In The Elder Scrolls Online, use a High Isle treasure map from your inventory, match its X to the landscape, and dig at the dirt mound to reveal the chest. The exact numbered High Isle chest locations are not verified here, so this guide explains the reliable mechanics and separates treasure locations from places where map items may be obtained.
How to use a High Isle treasure map
- Open your inventory and right-click the treasure map, then select Use.
- Compare the map’s X with the terrain and landmarks in High Isle to identify the matching spot.
- Go to that spot and look for the dirt mound. Dig it up to reveal the hidden treasure.

High Isle map numbers and chest locations
A complete location guide should pair each numbered map with the landmark where its chest is buried. The available verified information does not establish those High Isle map-by-map landmarks, so listing coordinates, nearby wayshrines, or points of interest would risk sending you to the wrong place.
Keep two different locations straight: the place where a player acquires a map item, and the place marked by the X where the treasure chest is dug up. Knowing one does not establish the other. ESO Hub’s search listing describes a guide covering all High Isle treasure-map locations, but the guide’s detailed entries could not be verified here; its claimed scope is not enough to confirm any particular landmark.

Treasure maps and Antiquities leads are different
A treasure map points to a buried chest. An Antiquities lead is a clue that lets a player begin searching for an Antiquity in a zone. Bethesda Support lists treasure chests among several possible lead sources, alongside activities such as defeating monsters and visiting vendors. It does not establish that opening a High Isle treasure chest always grants a lead, or specify a High Isle drop chance.
For Antiquities, open the Journal, choose the Antiquities Codex, and select a lead by location, reward, or difficulty. Bethesda Support says activity-acquired leads expire 30 days after first acquisition and cannot be traded. Leads can be acquired without the Greymoor Chapter, but using them requires owning Greymoor and completing the first Antiquarians Circle quest. What is established about obtaining High Isle treasure maps
Bethesda Support lists High Isle Treasure Maps among the contents of the High Isle Collector’s Pack. That association does not show that the pack is required to use maps, that it is currently available, or where it can be purchased. An official ESO Support search result for the Heroes of High Isle event also says its Ascendant Hoard Box could include a High Isle Treasure Map or Survey Report. That is a past event reward detail, not a standing acquisition method or a current event schedule.
