Hisense has launched the 27GX in China as a 27-inch Fast IPS gaming monitor with 4K resolution at 160Hz, a 1080p mode reported at up to 320Hz, Mini LED backlighting, USB-C charging, KVM support, speakers, and built-in smart-TV functionality. The reported launch price is ¥4,399—roughly $622 by the contemporary exchange-rate comparison—but that is not a U.S. retail price. A verified U.S. launch, official purchase page, or local warranty has not been established.

The core specifications come from launch coverage and Chinese listings, rather than independent laboratory testing. Gizmochina’s launch report identifies December 7, 2025 as the reported announcement date, while a ZOL specification listing provides additional product details.
What makes the 27GX different?
The 27GX is more than a monitor with HDMI inputs. It combines desktop-monitor features—an adjustable stand, DisplayPort, USB-C docking, KVM switching, and high refresh rates—with a TV-style processor, speakers, smart interface, and picture-processing features such as MEMC and AI image enhancement.

That makes it more accurate to describe the product as a smart monitor with TV-class processing than as a conventional television. The hybrid design targets people who want one compact display for PC gaming, console use, streaming, and work.

4K/160Hz and 1080p/320Hz gaming modes

The 4K/160Hz mode is the headline configuration, but demanding games may require a powerful graphics card to approach 160 frames per second at native resolution. The 1080p mode reduces the GPU workload and is aimed at competitive games where motion clarity and frame rate matter more than image detail.
There is a minor specification conflict: most reports list 320Hz, while one report lists 300Hz. Until an official manual or regional product page clarifies the difference, 320Hz should be treated as the prevailing reported figure rather than a tested result.
The available information does not establish the monitor’s input-lag measurements, variable-refresh-rate range, overdrive behavior, or whether both HDMI 2.1 ports support the full 4K/160Hz signal. DisplayPort 1.4 may also require Display Stream Compression for 4K at high refresh rates, depending on the implementation.

Hisense reportedly gives the 27GX 2,304 Mini LED dimming zones and a claimed peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The product is also positioned around HDR1400 or VESA DisplayHDR 1400 specifications. Those figures suggest an ambitious HDR design, but they do not prove how the monitor performs in real scenes.

A peak brightness number is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness. Zone count alone also cannot establish blooming, uniformity, black levels, tone mapping, or brightness limiting. No independent measurements of those characteristics were identified in the available coverage.
Hisense also claims a 33% improvement in black-level performance through its proprietary “Obsidian Screen.” That claim should not be confused with an independently measured result.
What is the Obsidian Screen?
The reported screen treatment uses a dual-layer nano-grade low-reflection coating, with reflectivity claimed at 1.8%. A lower-reflection glossy or semi-gloss surface can preserve perceived contrast and color in controlled lighting, but it does not mean the panel is matte or reflection-free. Windows, lamps, and bright objects can still appear on screen.
The sources do not provide independent measurements for haze, viewing angles, text clarity, or coating behavior. Buyers who dislike reflections should wait for hands-on testing before assuming the finish will suit their room.

Color and creative-work claims
Reported specifications include 99% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, 100% Adobe RGB, 85% BT.2020 coverage, and factory calibration with Delta E below 1. These are stated product or launch claims, not independent test results.
The reported 10-bit capability is described as 8-bit + FRC, which is not identical to native 10-bit panel output in every mode. Wide-gamut coverage can also produce oversaturated colors in applications that do not manage color correctly. Creative professionals should verify calibration with a colorimeter and check whether the monitor offers a reliable sRGB clamp, hardware calibration, and consistent grayscale, gamma, and uniformity.
What does “doubles as a Smart TV” mean?
The 27GX reportedly includes a MediaTek 9655 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, voice control, two 5W speakers, AI Super Resolution, AI picture tuning, dynamic black-frame insertion, MEMC motion compensation, and Standard, Kids, Senior, and Education viewing modes. Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision IQ are also listed among its reported features.

In particular, buyers should not assume that Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, or other services will work on a China-market model, or that the device uses the same software platform found on Hisense televisions sold in the United States. Dolby features can also depend on the source and application.

The stand reportedly supports tilt, pivot, swivel, and height adjustment. The monitor uses a 75 × 75mm VESA mount and is supplied with a GaN power adapter. A Chinese listing gives approximate dimensions of 614 × 78 × 359mm without the stand and 614 × 212 × 501mm with it, but that listing contains inconsistencies and should not be treated as a definitive technical document.
USB-C charging and KVM could make the 27GX particularly useful for someone switching between a desktop and laptop. However, the sources do not confirm whether 90W charging remains available while the USB hub is heavily loaded, or exactly how the KVM is connected to the video inputs.

The reported China launch price is ¥4,399. A contemporary dollar conversion puts that at approximately $622, but this is only an exchange-rate comparison—not a U.S. retail price.

The strongest current conclusion is that the 27GX launched in China, while a verified U.S. launch, official U.S. purchase page, or U.S. warranty listing has not been established. Hisense’s U.S. television catalog, TV deals page, and official U.S. store do not provide a verified 27GX purchase page in the available information.
Importing one may introduce Chinese-language menus, region-limited apps, a Chinese power plug or adapter requirement, uncertain firmware updates, limited warranty support, import taxes, shipping damage, and difficult returns. If the unit includes a broadcast tuner, compatibility with North American standards would also need to be confirmed. Firmware from another region should not be installed unless Hisense explicitly supports cross-region flashing.
Who should consider the Hisense 27GX?
It may suit:
- PC gamers with enough GPU power for 4K gaming at high frame rates.
- Players who switch between detailed 4K games and high-frame-rate esports titles.
- Laptop and desktop owners who can use USB-C charging and KVM.
- Small-space users who want one display for gaming, streaming, and work.
- Import buyers comfortable with uncertain software and warranty support.
It may not suit:
- U.S. buyers who require local warranty coverage and simple returns.
- Users who need guaranteed Netflix or other Western streaming-app certification.
- Color-critical professionals who require independently verified calibration.
- Competitive players who prefer native 1080p or 1440p at 240Hz-plus.
- Anyone who wants a genuinely matte, reflection-free display.
- PC-only users who do not need smart-TV hardware, speakers, or TV processing.
How it compares with the alternatives
A conventional 4K/144–160Hz Mini LED monitor may offer a simpler PC-focused experience and clearer documentation. A 4K OLED monitor may provide better pixel-level contrast, but with different brightness, burn-in, and pricing considerations. A large gaming TV is more suitable for living-room use and built-in streaming, while a standard monitor paired with a streaming device avoids tying smart-TV software to an imported display.
Hisense’s U.S. M7 and U7 Mini LED Google TVs are official regional alternatives for buyers who prioritize large-screen gaming and streaming. For example, the 55-inch M7 is a more realistic gaming-TV comparison than the company’s much larger 100-inch U7, but neither is a like-for-like replacement for a 27-inch desk monitor with USB-C and KVM.
Verdict
On paper, the Hisense 27GX is an unusually ambitious display. It combines 4K/160Hz gaming, a reported 1080p/320Hz mode, a high-zone Mini LED backlight, USB-C charging, KVM support, speakers, and smart-TV hardware in a compact 27-inch format.
The unresolved questions are more important than the converted price: independent HDR performance, real input latency, the exact smart-TV platform, app and language support, and international warranty availability. For a China-based buyer, it could be a compelling all-in-one gaming display. For a U.S. buyer, it is better treated as an interesting China-market launch to watch than as a straightforward purchase recommendation until an official regional listing and independent testing appear.
