Hitman: Absolution is no longer up for preorder: Feral Interactive released the iPhone and iPad version on October 16, 2025. The original App Store preorder opened on August 1, 2025, at $14.99 in the U.S.; as of August 18, 2026, the U.S. listing still shows that price and includes the free Contracts mode update.
From preorder to release
When Feral Interactive announced the mobile adaptation on August 1, 2025, iPhone and iPad users could preorder it on the App Store, while Android users could preregister through Google Play. The planned autumn release became an October 16, 2025 launch on both platforms. The original announcement is now historical; the game is available to buy through the U.S. App Store listing.

The U.S. price is $14.99, a one-time purchase, checked August 18, 2026. Prices vary by region; Feral listed reference prices of £9.99 and €12.49 at launch. Check your local store for its current price and availability.
What’s included in the mobile version?
This is Feral’s adaptation of the 2012 Hitman: Absolution, not a new entry or a mobile edition of Hitman: World of Assassination. The App Store describes a 20-mission single-player campaign with touch controls, gamepad support, and keyboard-and-mouse support. Listed gameplay features include Instinct Mode, Point Shooting, challenges, and Purist difficulty; the listing also notes achievements, screen-rotation support, and HD in-game cinematics.

Those features describe what is included, not a claim of exact technical parity with every console or PC version. The available sources do not establish a definitive offline-play policy. Contracts uses online sharing, player-created assignments, and leaderboards, but that alone does not establish whether the campaign requires an internet connection.
Contracts arrived in a free update
Contracts was not part of the original launch package. Feral made the mode available in a free update on May 14, 2026. Owners can select up to three targets, choose assassination methods, create custom assignments, share them online, and try contracts made by other players. Leaderboards span iOS and Android. Install the latest update to access the mode; it is an addition for game owners, not a free standalone game. Feral’s update announcement has the details.

Check compatibility and storage before buying
- Operating system and chip: The App Store requires iOS 18 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later.
- Listed iPhones: iPhone XR and later, plus iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later.
- Listed iPads: iPad (8th generation) and later, iPad mini (5th generation) and later, iPad Air (3rd generation) and later, and iPad Pro (3rd generation) and later.
- Storage: The listed download size is 4.1 GB, but Feral says to have at least 12 GB free and recommends roughly twice that amount to avoid installation problems. Do not assume that 4.1 GB of available space is enough.
These are the device families identified by the listing; compatibility should not be generalized to every Apple device with a similar chip. The listing confirms gamepad and keyboard-and-mouse support, but does not guarantee that every accessory works with every iPhone or iPad. If input behaves unexpectedly with multiple accessories connected, update the game first: its version history notes a fix for gamepad issues when a Magic Keyboard is also connected. The App Store showed version 1.3.1 when checked August 18, 2026; versions can change.

It is a straightforward option for returning Absolution fans who want its campaign on a compatible portable device, and for players looking for a premium stealth game without a subscription. The later Contracts update adds player-made assignments beyond the campaign. Touch controls are available, while a supported gamepad or keyboard and mouse offers an alternative if you would rather not play on a touchscreen.

Think twice if your device is below the listed requirements, you cannot make enough storage space, or you specifically want the newer World of Assassination experience. This is the 2012 story-driven entry, not that newer format. If you are unsure whether your particular device or accessory combination works, confirm compatibility in the store listing before purchasing.
