During The High Keep quest, reach Falbarton Castle’s battlements by climbing around the right (east) side of the bridge. Use Depulso on the main gate mechanism, then immediately cast Accio on the handle above it to keep the gate open.
Reach the battlements
- Meet Natty at Falbarton Castle. The main entrance is not the route through; The High Keep sends you around the castle wall.
- Go to the right of the bridge. From the Falbarton Castle Floo Flame, head east of the bridge and follow the broken stonework and climbable ledges up to the battlements. Windows Central’s High Keep walkthrough describes this approach.
- Open the smaller passage. At the wall, find the rotating mechanism beside the small gate and cast Depulso on it to continue along the battlement route.
Open the main gate
- Continue until you can reach the main gate mechanism from inside the battlements.
- Cast Depulso on the mechanism to raise the gate.
- While the gate is raised, quickly aim at the handle above or near the mechanism and cast Accio. This holds the gate open so you and Natty can pass through. The Depulso-then-Accio sequence is also shown in Pro Game Guides’ High Keep gate guide and Game8’s quest walkthrough.
If the gate closes again
If the large gate rises and then drops, the Accio cast was likely delayed or missed. Cast Depulso again and target the handle with Accio as soon as the gate lifts. The Escapist’s Falbarton Castle guide also covers opening the main gate. These walkthroughs establish the puzzle sequence; they do not confirm platform-specific glitches or alternate inputs.
