How to get to Bilewater
From Sinner’s Road
The documented first route is through a breakable wall in Sinner’s Road’s eastern vertical passage. Look for the wall as you progress through that passage; the entrance leads into Bilewater. The area reference describes the connection and the region’s layout.
From Whispering Vaults
An alternate entrance connects Bilewater with the eastern section of the Whispering Vaults. This passage requires Clawline to open, so it is not the same early access route as the breakable wall from Sinner’s Road. The Bilewater area reference lists both connections.
How to get and update the Bilewater map
- Get the area map. Shakra sells area maps. If you missed her earlier, the map-mechanics reference says she can later be found in Bone Bottom or Bellhart, where a missed map can be purchased. See the map reference.
- Carry a Quill. The Quill is needed to record newly discovered rooms on your map.
- Explore, then rest at a Bench. Newly explored rooms are added when Hornet rests at a Bench; discovering them does not immediately redraw the map.
The in-game map is best for tracking your own progress while keeping exploration spoiler-light. For a searchable checklist of specific markers, a community-made interactive map advertises more than 1,300 locations across the game, including Bilewater. Its markers are maintained by its operators, and it is not an official Team Cherry map: Silksong Map.

How to orient yourself in Bilewater
Bilewater is a vertically layered swamp beneath the Citadel, with tight caves, tall caverns, roots, thorns, old structures, and bile orbs Hornet can needle-bounce from. Bilehaven, a small Stilkin village, is in the upper part of the area. The Exhaust Organ lies to the west and extends into Underworks. Use those landmarks to keep your bearings as you explore up and down through the region. The Bilewater reference describes the area and its landmarks.
Watch for tripwire-triggered traps and spikes, which the area reference identifies as hazards. The same page attributes this Lore Tablet passage to the Stilkin Tribe: “Hate for their light. Hate for their pins. For their waste poured thick and endless. Fill your hearts with hate, for power has now been claimed, and with it we shall punish.”

Bilewater entrances and connected areas
Bilewater connects to several regions, so its exits can help you orient yourself as much as its landmarks do. The area references list these connections:
- Sinner’s Road
- Whispering Vaults
- Putrified Ducts
- Underworks, via the western Exhaust Organ
- Choral Chambers
- The Mist
The documented entry conditions apply to the Sinner’s Road and Whispering Vaults routes: the former uses a breakable wall, while the latter requires Clawline. Bilewater collectibles and completion
The Bilewater feature listing records one Mask Shard, two Memory Lockets, and two Fleas. Treat those as an area-level checklist rather than a room-by-room route: the available listing does not establish dependable room coordinates. For precise marker locations, use the searchable community map and verify its current Bilewater markers against your in-game map. Bilewater area reference; community interactive map.
To complete your own map, explore every room you can reach and return to a Bench to record discoveries. If you are using an external marker checklist, compare it with your in-game map rather than assuming a marker proves that a room has been charted.

Fast travel from Bilewater
A Bellway station is listed in Bilewater, and the Bellway reference gives its price as 80 Rosaries. Prices can change between game versions, so check the station’s in-game prompt before budgeting around that figure. Bellway Pins can mark stations you have discovered. Bellway reference.
