Aim for at least 70% CRIT Rate to activate Rutilant Arena’s Basic Attack benefit; the Version 4.4 guide’s other targets are 140%+ CRIT DMG, 2,800+ ATK, and either base Speed with a fast Shifu or 134 SPD otherwise. These are guide-recommended targets, not universal breakpoints or damage guarantees.
Build March 7th’s Hunt form, not her Preservation form
This guide covers March 7th • The Hunt, her alternate Path form. HoYoWiki identifies March 7th as a four-star Ice Preservation character and lists The Hunt among her other Paths; the Hunt build guide describes this form as an Imaginary enhanced-Basic damage dealer. The two forms should not be treated as the same build. HoYoWiki: March 7th
General CRIT build: Light Cone, relics, and stats
The Version 4.4 build guide audited August 13, 2026, uses this as its general CRIT reference setup. Its rankings can change with game balance or equipment changes. Prydwen: March 7th • The Hunt build guide
| Slot | Recommended setup | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Light Cone | In the Night | The guide’s reference choice; it provides CRIT Rate, scales damage with Speed, and adds an Ultimate CRIT DMG bonus. Prydwen describes it as a consistent, high personal-damage option for a CRIT build. |
| Cavern Relics | Four-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat | ATK, Speed, and Basic Attack bonuses support March’s enhanced-Basic loop. |
| Planar Ornaments | Two-piece Rutilant Arena | Its Basic Attack benefit is the reason to reach at least 70% CRIT Rate. |
Main stats
- Body: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
- Feet: ATK% or SPD
- Planar sphere: Imaginary DMG
- Link rope: ATK%
Stat targets and Speed choices
The guide’s reference targets are 70% CRIT Rate for Rutilant Arena, 140% or more CRIT DMG, and 2,800 or more ATK. For Speed, it recommends base Speed when paired with a fast Shifu, or 134 SPD otherwise. These figures are build-guide targets; they are not independently measured performance thresholds.

Choose a Light Cone for your team and target pattern
- In the Night: The reference CRIT option when available, with CRIT Rate and bonuses that reward Speed.
- Swordplay: A strong alternative when March and her Shifu repeatedly attack the same enemy. Changing targets can undermine its stacking benefit, so it is less dependable when fights demand frequent target switches.
- Cruising in the Stellar Sea: An accessible option obtainable through Herta’s Store.
- Sailing Towards A Second Life: Prydwen lists this as a premium specialist choice for a Super Break-oriented build rather than the general CRIT setup.
The available comparisons are qualitative rather than measured damage rankings. Choose according to what you own, whether March can stay on one target, and whether the team is built around CRIT damage or Break.
Relic and Planar Ornament alternatives
Flexible CRIT relic mix
If a full Musketeer set is inconvenient, the Version 4.4 guide lists two-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat plus two-piece Scholar of Lost Erudition as a flexible CRIT alternative. Four-piece Musketeer remains its stable general recommendation.
Planar sets depend on CRIT and team Paths
- Rutilant Arena: The reference set when March reaches its 70% CRIT Rate condition.
- Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm: An alternative when another Hunt ally is on the team.
- Glamoth: Situational; its first Speed condition is 135 SPD, with a second tier at 160 SPD.
Super Break route
For a team centered on Super Break rather than March’s personal CRIT damage, Prydwen lists four-piece Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge among the relevant relic choices and Sailing Towards A Second Life as a premium Light Cone option. This is a different team role, not a direct upgrade to the general CRIT build.
Skill priority and Shifu selection
For the general build, the Version 4.4 guide prioritizes traces in this order: Basic ATK > Talent > Ultimate > Skill. March’s Shifu ally helps charge her enhanced Basic Attack, so Shifu choice affects how quickly she reaches that damage loop. Pocket Tactics notes that the choice can also shift emphasis between damage and toughness damage; treat that as guide advice, not a universal ranking. Pocket Tactics: March 7th build

Team composition: use March as a damage partner or Break contributor
A useful Version 4.4 example is Feixiao / March 7th / Robin / Aventurine. Assign Feixiao as March’s Shifu: Feixiao attacks frequently and helps charge March, Robin supports the follow-up core, and Aventurine sustains the team while contributing attacks. Where target focus matters, have March direct her enhanced Basic Attack at the same enemy as Feixiao. This is one workable example, not a required lineup for every roster or mode.
Before settling on a team and equipment, consider:
- Whether March’s main job is personal CRIT damage, toughness damage and Break contribution, or sub-DPS alongside a primary attacker.
- Whether her Shifu attacks often enough to support her enhanced-Basic cadence.
- Whether the team can keep attacking one target, which makes Swordplay more attractive.
- Whether your roster supports CRIT damage, debuffs, or a Break-focused approach.
- Whether a Planar set’s condition fits the team, including a second Hunt ally for Izumo or the required Speed for Glamoth.
How to pick the right version of the build
- Start with the team’s job for March. Use the general CRIT baseline when you want her enhanced Basics to deal personal damage; consider the Super Break route when the team is designed around Break.
- Check your Light Cone and target habits. Prefer Swordplay only if the team can focus attacks consistently; otherwise use an available alternative that fits your build.
- Match Planar Ornaments to your stats and allies. Reach Rutilant Arena’s CRIT condition, use Izumo when another Hunt ally qualifies, or pursue Glamoth only if the Speed requirement is realistic.
- Build around Shifu cadence. Decide whether the fast-Shifu/base-Speed arrangement or the 134 SPD target better suits your actual partner.
Build recommendations here reflect the Version 4.4 guide audited August 13, 2026; recheck them after later balance or equipment changes.
