The Battlefield 6 Open Beta download was reported at around 39.24 GB on Steam and 37.56 GB on Xbox Series X, according to GameSpot on August 4, 2025. The beta has ended, and the report did not establish a verified PS5 download size.
Reported Battlefield 6 beta download sizes
GameSpot’s August 4, 2025 report gave two storefront figures from the preload period:
| Platform or storefront | Reported beta download size | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Steam (PC) | Around 39.24 GB | GameSpot’s reported Steam client size during preload. |
| Xbox Series X | 37.56 GB | GameSpot’s reported Xbox Series X listing size during preload. |
| PlayStation 5 | Not stated | GameSpot’s report does not establish a verified PS5 figure. |
GameSpot noted that the file size varied by platform. These are reported download figures, not an official permanent specification or proof of the space the client would occupy after updates. They also do not form a complete platform-by-platform size chart. GameSpot’s August 4, 2025 report

Beta download size is not the full game size
The 39.24 GB and 37.56 GB figures apply to the beta client as reported during preload; they should not be used as the full game’s install-size requirement. EA described the beta as a chance to try selected multiplayer maps and modes, and announced the full game for October 10, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The cited announcement does not give a full-game install size. EA’s full-game announcement
