There is no universal Pokémon code box: the right place depends on the product named on the code. TCG Live codes go through the game or its official website, Pokémon HOME codes through Mystery Gift in the HOME mobile app, and TCG Pocket and Pokémon Sleep codes through dedicated websites. Some video-game promotions use a Mystery Gift menu. Check the account, expiration date, and redemption limits before submitting.
Find the redemption route for your code

Use the route named for the product on the card or promotion. A code for one Pokémon service will not necessarily work in another service’s app or website.

How to redeem a Pokémon TCG Live code
- Confirm the account. In the app or on the website, sign in to the Pokémon Trainer Central account linked to the collection that should receive the reward.
- Enter the code. In the app, open Shop > Redeem and type the code or scan the card’s QR code. On the official TCG Live website, choose Redeem Code and submit the code.
- Review and claim. Check the displayed reward, then select Claim Now. The reward may go to the collection or the in-game Inbox.
Only specially marked Pokémon TCG products contain TCG Live code cards. A code card in a physical booster pack can unlock a digital pack from the same expansion, but the digital pack is not guaranteed to contain the same cards as the physical pack. See Pokémon Support’s code-card instructions and check the product packaging rather than assuming every Pokémon TCG product includes a code.
TCG Live redemption limits
Pokémon Support’s FAQ lists these standard soft limits for TCG Live; they are product-specific rules, not limits for every Pokémon code. After a soft limit, additional codes for that product may award a small amount of in-game currency instead of the usual items. Product-specific exceptions can apply.

How to claim a Pokémon HOME code
- Open the Pokémon HOME mobile app and choose Mystery Gift > Code.
- Enter the code, or scan a supported code pattern. The gift is sent to the app’s Gift Box.
- Open the Gift Box and claim the gift into HOME, or use the displayed code with a compatible game if the gift instructions call for it.
HOME gifts may become unavailable from the Gift Box after a period. Each gift can be received only once per save file, and a used code cannot be reused. See Pokémon HOME code instructions.
How to redeem a Pokémon TCG Pocket gift code
- Open the official TCG Pocket code redemption page; codes are not redeemed inside the app.
- Enter your Support ID and gift code, then submit them.
- Check the in-game Gifts screen for the reward. If it does not appear straight away, check the Claimed tab as well.
Codes are single-use and may be unavailable if they have expired, reached a campaign or account limit, or are not yet valid. If redemption fails, verify the Support ID and code and check the campaign’s terms. See Pokémon Support’s TCG Pocket troubleshooting instructions.
How to redeem a Pokémon Sleep serial code
- Open the dedicated Pokémon Sleep serial-code page.
- Enter your Support ID and serial code. Do not include hyphens in the serial code.
- Check the in-game Gift Box for the reward.
If the code is rejected, check both fields and whether the serial code has expired or reached its use limit. Sleep serial codes do not use the letters I, O, Q, S, or Z. Details are on Pokémon Support’s Sleep code troubleshooting page.

How Mystery Gift codes work in Pokémon video games
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
- Launch the game and select Mystery Gift > Get a Mystery Gift > Get with Code/Password.
- Connect to the internet when prompted and enter the code.
- Receive the Pokémon or item and save the game. Some fashion items must be collected from an in-game boutique.
Older Nintendo 3DS promotions
Pokémon Support documents Mystery Gift promotions for Nintendo 3DS family games using methods such as internet, local wireless, infrared, or code/password, depending on the promotion. Follow the instructions for the particular game and event. The official Mystery Gift guide covers these documented methods; it does not establish that the same menu or code support applies to every newer Pokémon game.
Claiming Pokémon Twitch giveaway codes
For an official Pokémon Twitch giveaway, follow the giveaway extension’s progress steps. When you qualify, it displays a code and a link to the redemption instructions for that particular product. This is distinct from Twitch Drops. Pokémon’s giveaway help page says refreshing or closing the stream can reset the timer, while muting or minimizing it can pause progress.
Why a Pokémon code may not work
- Wrong product or redemption route: Match the code to the game or service printed on it. For example, a Pocket or Sleep code does not belong in TCG Live.
- Wrong account: For TCG Live, rewards cannot be moved between accounts after redemption. Confirm the intended Pokémon Trainer Central account before claiming.
- Typing or format error: Recheck similar-looking characters and follow any format instructions. HOME codes do not use the letters O, I, or Z; Sleep serial codes omit hyphens and do not use I, O, Q, S, or Z.
- Already used, expired, or at a limit: Some codes work once; others have expiration dates or campaign, account, or product limits. Check the terms attached to that particular code.
- Reward not yet visible: Check the destination specified for that product, such as the HOME Gift Box, Pocket Gifts screen, Sleep Gift Box, or TCG Live Inbox.
- TCG Live error requiring support: Keep the code card and transaction details. Pokémon Support asks for the associated screen name, code number, and platform when investigating redemption problems.
Can you still redeem Pokémon TCG Online codes?
Pokémon TCG Online’s app and servers shut down on June 5, 2023, before TCG Live’s global launch on June 8, 2023. Pokémon Support says TCG Online-branded code cards from Pokémon TCG products can be redeemed in TCG Live, although some may unlock different items than they did in Online. Each code could be redeemed only once across the two services, so a code already used in TCG Online cannot be claimed again. See Pokémon Support’s TCG Online code-card guidance.
