First check what the request means by “game ID.” It could be a player ID inside a particular game, an account ID for a platform such as Epic or Steam, or a product ID that identifies the game itself. These numbers are different and usually cannot be substituted for one another. If a form or support request is unclear, ask the game or service’s support team which identifier it needs.
Which ID are you looking for?

Epic’s documentation makes the distinction explicit: “Each game has a unique player ID, which is different from your Epic ID.” Epic Games Support explains the game-specific lookup. Use the steps that match the wording of the request, rather than assuming that any number labeled “ID” will work.
Find an Epic game’s player ID
Epic’s player ID is tied to an individual game, not simply to your Epic account. To locate it for a game purchase or web shop:
- Open the Epic Games Store or open the purchase page from inside the game.
- Find the content you want to link and choose Web Shop.
- Under Link Now, select Can’t find your player ID.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to locate the game’s player ID.
If this flow does not reveal the ID, Epic advises contacting the game’s developer. A game’s support team can clarify whether it needs this player ID or a different identifier.

Find your Epic account ID
Your Epic account ID identifies your Epic account; it is separate from a game-specific player ID and from your display name. Epic says the ID is unique to the account, cannot be changed, and is not displayed to other users. You can find it in either of these places:
- Epic website: Sign in, open the account menu, choose Account, then look under Account Information.
- Epic Games Launcher: Open Friends, select the profile icon, then choose Show Account ID.
Epic also provides game-specific instructions for viewing the account identifier in Fortnite and Fall Guys. See Epic’s account ID guide if you are using one of those games or the menu labels differ.

Find your Steam account ID (SteamID)
A SteamID identifies your Steam account, not a game in your library. Steam Support describes the commonly used SteamID format as a 64-bit account ID represented by a 17-digit number. To view it:
- Open your Steam Community Profile and choose Edit Profile.
- Look below the Custom URL box. If you have not set a custom URL, the numeric ID appears in the URL there.
- If a custom URL is set, clear the text from the Custom URL field. The URL below it will show the numeric account ID.
Follow Steam Support’s instructions for finding your SteamID. If the request is asking for a Steam game’s product ID instead, use the next section.

Find a Steam game’s App ID
Steam’s App ID identifies a product, while a SteamID identifies a user account. If someone requests the App ID for a game, open that game’s Steam store or support listing and inspect the product page or URL for its App ID. Steam Support product pages show the App ID associated with the product; the label and context matter, so do not submit your personal SteamID in its place. Console account IDs and in-game player IDs have different lookup paths, and those paths vary by platform and game. A support guide for 007 First Light directs PlayStation users to Settings > Account Management > Account Information to view a PlayStation ID. Its guide points users to the official platform support pages for Steam, Xbox, and Epic rather than giving a universal route for every game.

For Xbox, Roblox, or another game-specific ID, use the official platform or game support instructions instead of guessing a menu path. Check the game’s help page or contact its developer, particularly if the request says “player ID” and may mean an identity inside the game rather than your console account. The 007 First Light support guide is one example of a game publisher directing players to platform-specific help.

If the ID still isn’t clear
- Check the exact wording on the form or support message: “player ID,” “account ID,” “SteamID,” and “App ID” can refer to different things.
- Ask the requesting service which company or game’s identifier it wants, and where it expects you to find it.
- Share an ID only through the service’s official support or account flow when it is needed. Do not assume an ID is a password or use it as a substitute for account security information.
