Short answer: you usually cannot copy a PlayStation Store download or PS4/PS5 disc into a native Windows game. Use PS Remote Play to stream a game from your own console, use the PlayStation Plus PC app with a Premium membership to stream eligible catalog games without using your console, or buy the game’s separate PC edition when one exists.

First, decide what “get my PS games on PC” means
These are three different technologies:
- Remote Play: your PS4 or PS5 runs the game, while the PC receives the video and sends back your controls.
- PlayStation Plus PC streaming: Sony’s service runs an eligible catalog game and streams it to the PC. It does not use your console library or create a permanent PC copy.
- Native PC version: Windows runs a separate PC release installed from an authorized storefront.
A console purchase normally does not grant the PC edition. A title may have a specific cross-buy or publisher entitlement, so verify the individual game rather than assuming a free upgrade.
Method 1: Use PS Remote Play with your PS4 or PS5
Remote Play is the best route when you already own the console and want to use games you purchased for it. The console remains responsible for running the game; Remote Play is not a download or conversion.
Requirements
Sony lists Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11, a seventh-generation Intel Core processor or later, at least 100 MB of storage, 2 GB of RAM, a 1,024 × 768-or-higher display, a sound card and a USB port. On Mac, Sony lists macOS Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia or Tahoe and at least 40 MB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. Check the current requirements because supported operating systems can change.

Sony recommends at least 5 Mbps upload and download, with 15 Mbps or more recommended for the best experience. That is a network guideline, not a guarantee: latency, packet loss and Wi-Fi congestion matter too.
Documented controller choices are the DualSense, DualSense Edge and DUALSHOCK 4. Connect the controller to the PC or Mac by USB for the supported setup.
Enable Remote Play on PS5
- Open Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play.
- For wake-up from rest mode, open Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode.
- Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network.
Enable Remote Play on PS4
- Open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings and turn on Enable Remote Play.
- Open Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4, then select Activate.
- For rest-mode wake-up, open Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Features Available in Rest Mode.
- Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS4 from Network.
Install and connect on the computer
- Download and install PS Remote Play.
- Connect the controller by USB, open the app and select Sign In.
- Use the same PlayStation account as the console.
- Select PS5 or PS4, then choose your console when it appears.
If discovery fails, test the first connection on the same network as the console. For manual registration, on PS5 choose Settings > System > Remote Play > Pair Device; on PS4 choose Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings > Add Device. Enter the displayed number in the Remote Play app.
Remote Play limitations
- The console must be powered on or correctly configured for rest mode.
- Some games do not support Remote Play; check the game’s support information.
- Protected content or some images may not display normally.
- Remote Play and PlayStation Plus game streaming cannot be used at the same time.
- Playing away from home is possible, but NAT, routing, latency and both networks’ upload capacity determine whether it works well.

Method 2: Stream eligible games with PlayStation Plus Premium
The PlayStation Plus PC app streams supported games from Sony’s service. Your own PS4/PS5 does not need to be running, but the game must be eligible in your territory and current catalog.
Membership and availability
Premium is the relevant tier for PC cloud streaming. On PlayStation’s U.S. site on August 18, 2026, the listed recurring prices were $19.99 monthly, $54.99 every three months and $159.99 annually. Prices, catalog contents and regional availability can change. Extra includes the Game Catalog but is not the Premium cloud-streaming tier.
A streamed game is available only while your membership is active and the title remains eligible. It is not a permanent PC license, and not every PlayStation game can be streamed. Check the current catalog.
Set up the PC app
- Download the PlayStation Plus app from Sony’s PC streaming guide.
- Install it and any requested drivers.
- Launch the app and sign in.
- Connect a compatible controller.
- Choose a membership plan if necessary, select an eligible game and start streaming.
You can browse with a keyboard and mouse, but Sony requires a compatible controller to play. Some third-party XInput controllers may work without guaranteed full compatibility.

Bandwidth and service limits
Sony lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 15 Mbps for 1080p streaming. Those figures do not guarantee smooth play: latency, packet loss, Wi-Fi interference, data caps and service queues can be more important than raw download speed.
- Party Chat is not currently supported on PlayStation Plus PC.
- Game add-ons and DLC cannot be used while streaming a PlayStation Plus game.
- Mouse and keyboard are not supported for gameplay in the streamed console environment.
- Some titles may be unavailable, region restricted or subject to a queue.
- PSVR, PS Move, Share Play, broadcasting and Share Screen are not supported in the relevant streaming contexts.
Save data in streamed games
Streaming progress can follow your session to another compatible device, but it does not automatically merge with a downloaded console copy. Sony documents this manual transfer:
- In the PC app, select the game and open its save-management menu.
- Press the PS button on the controller and select Application Saved Data Management.
- To upload, choose Saved Data in Game Streaming Storage > Copy to Online Storage.
- To retrieve it later, choose Saved Data in Online Storage > Copy to Game Streaming Storage.
These steps do not make a streamed save compatible with a Steam, Epic or other PC edition. Cross-save is controlled by each game and publisher.
Method 3: Buy and install the native PC version
A native PC edition runs locally on Windows and can provide configurable graphics, higher frame rates, mouse-and-keyboard controls and, in some games, mod support. It also lets you play without a console session, but it is usually a separate purchase.

Check the official listing
Start with PlayStation’s PC games page and follow the authorized retailer link for the specific title. Sony says pricing varies by game.
Before buying, verify:
- That a PC release exists and which storefront sells it.
- Minimum and recommended PC specifications.
- Whether a PlayStation account, separate launcher or publisher account is required.
- Cross-play, cross-progression and cross-save support.
- Whether DLC must be purchased again.
PlayStation PC games can support mouse and keyboard, DualShock 4, DualSense and other PC controllers, but DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers and wireless features vary by title and connection method. See Sony’s PC controller guidance.
Can a PS4 or PS5 disc be used on a PC?
No—not as a normal, supported Windows installation. A console disc is not a universal PC license or Windows installer. Use the disc on the console, or obtain the game’s PC edition through an authorized storefront. Do not copy disc files or bypass platform protections.

Not automatically. A PlayStation Store purchase is generally licensed to the console platform. Check whether the publisher offers a PC version, whether the game is eligible for PlayStation Plus PC streaming, and whether a specific cross-buy or publisher entitlement applies. Remote Play only displays and controls the console copy.

Troubleshooting
Remote Play cannot find the console
- Confirm the console is powered on or configured for rest mode.
- Check that Remote Play is enabled and both devices use the same PlayStation account.
- Connect the PC and console to the network and complete an initial local connection.
- Try manual pairing with the number shown under the console’s Pair Device or Add Device menu.
- If it has been a long time since the last sign-in, test the connection near the console first.
The picture is blurry, delayed or disconnects
- Use Ethernet for the PC and, if possible, the console.
- Stop downloads and video streams, and move to a less congested Wi-Fi network.
- Lower Remote Play resolution or frame rate.
- Test at home before connecting from another network.
- Restart the app, console and router, then update system software and the app.
A faster internet plan alone cannot remove latency caused by distance or routing.
The controller is not recognized
- Use USB instead of Bluetooth.
- Try a DualSense, DualSense Edge or DUALSHOCK 4 for Remote Play.
- Update controller and PC drivers where applicable.
- Close controller-remapping software.
- For PlayStation Plus PC, remember that third-party XInput support is not guaranteed.
A PlayStation Plus game is missing
It may have left the catalog, be unavailable in your country, require a different tier, support console download but not PC streaming, be restricted by age or account settings, or simply not be streamable. The current catalog page is the authoritative check.
Your save or DLC is missing
Separate console saves, streamed-game storage, PlayStation cloud storage and PC storefront saves are not interchangeable by default. A native PC port needs explicit cross-save or cross-progression support. DLC is expected to be unavailable during PlayStation Plus PC streaming.
