Plan on about 22 hours to reach the credits and roughly 70 hours to see and catch every Pokémon, based on Nintendo Life’s reported playthrough. That 70-hour figure included review downtime, so it is a reference point—not a guaranteed average or a measure of completing every Pokédex task, request, and postgame challenge.
What does “100%” mean in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
There is no single officially timed 100% category in the sources available. Players may mean finishing the main story, catching every species, completing Pokédex research entries, finishing requests, or taking on the post-credits challenges added in an update. Those goals are not interchangeable, and each broader target takes more play than simply reaching the credits.
Nintendo describes the central goal as studying Pokémon to complete the first Pokédex for Hisui. Catching a Pokémon is only one part of that: research tasks build out its Pokédex entry and contribute to Galaxy Team rank. Nintendo’s gameplay overview explains the research-task system, while the official game page frames the broader Pokédex goal.
How long each milestone takes
| Completion target | Reported time | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Reach the credits | 22 hours | Nintendo Life’s reported playthrough time to see the credits. |
| See and catch every Pokémon | About 70 hours | Nintendo Life’s catch-all playthrough estimate; it included review downtime for notes, tea breaks, screenshots, and exploration. |
| Complete every research task, request, and post-credits challenge | No dependable combined time established | The available sources do not give a supported total for this more exhaustive definition of 100%. |
Nintendo Life’s figures are useful for distinguishing a story run from a catch-everything run, but they are not controlled averages. A focused player and someone who pauses to explore or document a playthrough may finish at different times. The roughly 70-hour estimate should not be treated as a precise benchmark or as proof that every task is complete. Nintendo Life’s playthrough estimate reports both milestones and notes the downtime in the longer run.

Why a full completionist run goes beyond catching every Pokémon
Pokédex research requires more than one catch
Research tasks ask players to do more than register a species. Completing them develops the corresponding entry and supports Galaxy Team rank, so “caught them all” is a narrower goal than finishing the research side of the game.
Requests are optional for the main story
Requests are separate from the main story and can extend a run beyond the credits. Serebii’s request listings include content through Daybreak, including Path of Solitude challenges. See Serebii’s request list for the range of request content.
Version 1.1.0 adds post-credits activities
Nintendo’s version 1.1.0 update adds content that further broadens a completionist target: requests involving Massive Mass Outbreaks, the Eternal Battle Reverie after the credits and those requests, Path of Solitude and Path of Tenacity battles, and a high-difficulty balloon race in the Coronet Highlands, among other additions. Winning a Path of Solitude battle marks that Pokémon’s Pokédex entry. These update-era activities are separate from the basic milestone of catching every species. Nintendo’s version 1.1.0 update notes describe the added content.

Which time should you use?
- You mainly want to finish the story: use 22 hours as Nintendo Life’s reported credits milestone, not a promise for every play style.
- You want to see and catch every Pokémon: use about 70 hours as a rough reference, remembering that the reported run included review downtime.
- You mean an exhaustive 100%: include research tasks, requests, and update-era postgame challenges in your definition. The available sources do not support a reliable total time for completing all of them.
