That is a practical guide for one run, not a guaranteed time or a measured average across players. Broader completion estimates are much longer: a Steam curator lists 6–7 hours for the main story and 50–60 hours for all achievements.
How long is one full climb in PEAK?
Plan for roughly 90 minutes to complete a successful full climb. On June 16, 2025, PEAK developer Botten Hanna answered a player’s question on Steam by saying, “1.5h is what a full climb will take yeah!” A player in the same discussion also reported taking about an hour and a half from shore to summit. A separate community reply dated September 29, 2025 put a typical run at 60–90 minutes. That is broadly consistent with the developer’s estimate, but the reply gives no sample size or measurement method, so neither figure should be treated as a formal average. See the community discussion.
Run time is different from completing the game
“Beat PEAK” can mean finishing one climb or pursuing broader completion goals. The Steam store page displays these curator estimates from Achievement Completionist, labeled 2026:

These are not developer averages, and they describe broader goals than a single successful climb. The store listing does not explain how the estimates were calculated. Check the PEAK Steam listing.
Can you finish a run across multiple sessions?
Yes. The March 30, 2026 Play It Your Way update added campfire autosaves, letting an expedition continue from the latest campfire. The save lasts until a player wins, loses, or starts a new expedition; it may also be erased if an update removes the map. The update also added mini runs, which let players play a single biome rather than commit to a full run. See the Steam announcement history, including the March update.

Do newer biome variants change the estimate?
The August 2026 Final Ascent update added Gloom and The Citadel as variants cycling with Caldera and The Kiln, according to SteamPeaks’ indexed update history. The available update information does not quantify how those variants affect run length, so the older 1.5-hour estimate should be treated as a general planning figure, not a measured time for every current map.
