Plan on about 50–70 hours for a campaign-focused playthrough of Elden Ring. If “fully beat” means exploring most optional content or pursuing a 100% completion target, allow roughly 90–130 hours or more. These are planning ranges, not guarantees: estimates use different definitions and player groups, and individual playtime varies with exploration, experience, and boss attempts.
How long does each kind of playthrough take?

These numbers are not directly comparable. Kitao described a development goal; GamesRadar+ gives editorial estimates for play styles; Stash summarizes player submissions. The 30-hour target is therefore not a typical-player expectation, and the tracker figures are aggregate reports rather than controlled measurements or a promise of an individual result.
What does “fully beat” Elden Ring mean?
There is no single playtime for “fully beat” because the phrase can mean different things:
- Reach an ending: follow a relatively direct route through the main story. A campaign-focused estimate is about 50–70 hours.
- Finish the story and do extras: explore optional areas and take on additional content. Stash’s tracker separates this from its main-story category and reports 100 hours 10 minutes for main story plus extras.
- Pursue 100%: use a particular tracker or checklist to define completion. Stash reports 127 hours 50 minutes in its 100% category, while GamesRadar+ estimates at least 90 hours and potentially 110 hours or more for broad completionist play.
“100%” is not a universal checklist that necessarily covers every quest, item, ending, and branch. GamesRadar+ notes that choices and endings can lock out other variations, so a single straightforward path cannot literally include every possible variation.

What affects your playtime?
- How directly you follow the main route: optional areas and side content add time beyond reaching an ending.
- Your familiarity with Soulsborne games and combat: experience can affect how long difficult encounters take.
- Boss attempts and leveling detours: repeated attempts or leaving an area to grind can extend a run.
- Your definition of completion: story-only, story-plus-extras, and 100% categories describe different amounts of play.
Does the estimate include Shadow of the Erdtree?
No combined base-game-plus-expansion playtime is established by these estimates. Bandai Namco describes Shadow of the Erdtree as expansion content and says it requires the base game. Treat the estimates above as base-game figures; a precise total including the expansion is not supported here.

Achievement completion is a narrower checklist than seeing all game content. TrueAchievements’ search listing estimates 80–100 hours for all 42 achievements, based on the modal completion time reported by 2,086 members. This is lower-confidence context rather than the lead estimate: the page was inaccessible for direct review, and the figure is a member-reported completion-time summary.
