Verdansk was expected to remain in Warzone throughout 2025, according to an April 2025 developer update—but Raven Software did not give a removal date or promise the map would stay permanently. Activision’s July 2026 Season 05 announcement still featured new content on Verdansk, but that alone does not confirm whether the map is playable as of October 8, 2026.
What did the Warzone developers say about Verdansk’s duration?
On April 14, 2025, Insider Gaming reported comments from Pete Actipis, Raven Software’s Warzone game director, following an IGN interview. Actipis said:
“We brought Verdansk back for a reason. It wasn’t just to bring it back for a season and kind of say goodbye to it again,” Actipis said. “A lot of effort went into it. So for the time being, Verdansk is sticking around, and this is just the beginning of the Verdansk 2025 journey, and then we’ll see how things go from there.”
Insider Gaming summarized the update as meaning Verdansk would remain throughout 2025. The wording set an outlook for that year, while leaving what would happen afterward undecided. It was not a permanent-availability guarantee. Insider Gaming’s April 14, 2025 report

What does the later 2026 update establish?
Activision’s official Season 05 announcement, published July 13, 2026, introduced a Drone Labs point of interest on Verdansk. That confirms Verdansk was still part of official Warzone content in that season; it does not say how long the map would remain after Season 05 or establish whether it was playable on October 8, 2026.
