PEAK supports up to four players total in a standard, unmodded lobby—the host plus three other scouts. It also supports solo play. To raise the limit, the host can use the PEAK Unlimited mod, which sets a default maximum of 20 players; that is a modded option, not the base-game cap.
How many players can play PEAK together?
Team PEAK’s Steam store listing says players can invite “up to three other scouts,” making the standard lobby limit four people total, including the host. The listing also supports solo play.
Can you play PEAK with more than four players?
Yes, with PEAK Unlimited, a community mod. Its documentation sets the default maximum at 20 players, and the host can change the limit through the in-game F2 menu or the configuration file. The mod’s settings and compatibility may change with game updates.
Who needs to install the mod?
Only the host needs PEAK Unlimited to expand the lobby. Other players can join through normal Steam invitations. Clients may also install it for additional quality-of-life fixes.

What to expect in a large modded lobby
- The mod author warns that high player counts can make the game unstable because they require more system resources.
- Above eight players, client-side fixes can matter: without the mod installed, audio sliders may be unavailable for the ninth player onward, and name tags can display incorrectly.
Why is the standard PEAK lobby limited to four?
In a Steam Community discussion posted June 19, 2025, developer Botten Hanna attributed the limit to pressure on the servers and game, as well as the need to balance the game around a set player count. The developer’s response explains the design choice; it is not a technical benchmark or a promise that the limit will never change.
