What happens when you use a transit?
A transit is an in-raid handoff between connected maps, not a menu option for choosing any destination. If the current map has a transit to your intended destination and you meet its requirements, entering the transit point moves you into the next raid. The versioned route guide says your character, worn gear, and carried items travel with you. Tarkov Field Guide’s Patch 1.1.5.0 guide describes this as continuing the run rather than returning to stash between deployments.
By contrast, a normal extraction ends the run at the stash, after which you can select a map and deploy again. Transit therefore keeps your raid-to-raid flow and loadout intact, while ordinary extraction gives you the stash-and-requeue step.
How do you activate a transit?
- Check the available connection. Consult the current map’s extraction or transit list and identify the destination shown for the point you plan to use.
- Reach the transit location. The point is tied to a route; it is not interchangeable with ordinary extraction points.
- Read the live interaction prompt. Check whether the transit is available and whether it requires an item, quest progress, a particular time, or other access conditions.
- Coordinate your group before starting. A transit reference reports a one-minute delay after raid start and a 20-second activation timer. The Escape from Tarkov community wiki says all members of a lobby-made group must be in the transit area or the timer restarts. These are third-party-reported mechanics, so use the in-game prompt if its conditions differ.
- Commit only when ready. The community wiki also reports that activating a transit disables ordinary extractions. Verify this in the current raid before relying on it, and do not begin the process until your group understands the consequences.
Which maps connect, and what can block a route?
Connections are route-specific, and a connection may not work in both directions. For example, the route reference lists Ground Zero to Streets of Tarkov beside the Mira Ave extraction, and Streets of Tarkov to Interchange southwest of the Concordia apartment complex. These are examples, not a complete or officially verified route table for the current build.

Eligibility can also differ by route. The Shoreline community page describes conditions such as having a key, unlocking a story chapter, meeting a night-time window, or presenting an access item. A requirement listed for one connection should not be assumed to apply to every transit. Before making a route plan, confirm the destination and conditions in the current raid.
When is transit preferable to extracting and re-queueing?

Transit makes sense when the connected destination fits your objective and you want to carry your current gear and inventory forward without routing through stash. Extracting normally is the alternative when you want to end the run and choose a destination through a fresh deployment. Neither option is inherently faster or safer: the right choice depends on the route, raid state, equipment, objective, and risk you are willing to take.

How current are the route details?
The detailed route guide is labeled Patch 1.1.5.0 and dated September 2026. Search results also referenced discussion of Patch 1.2.0.0 around October 6, 2026, but the available material does not establish whether that patch changed transit rules. Treat specific routes and mechanics here as a snapshot, not a guarantee for every October 2026 raid. Check the in-game transit list and prompt before planning around a connection.
