Those plans include 100, 2,000, and 5,000 viewer hours, respectively, so a 24/7 stream’s cost depends on counted viewing as well as the plan. The reviewed IBM sources do not confirm that YouTube-only viewers count toward IBM billing—or explain a direct IBM-to-YouTube delivery setup—so these prices are not a confirmed all-in cost for a YouTube audience.
IBM Video Streaming’s published US starting prices
IBM’s US pricing page lists these monthly starting prices and allowances. Treat the dollar amounts as published US prices, not guaranteed quotes for every location or account; the page does not state a publication year. Figures below were accessed in 2026.
| Plan | Starting price per month | Included viewer hours | Channels | Video storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | $154 | 100 | 5 | 1 TB |
| Gold | $773 | 2,000 | 10 | 2 TB |
| Platinum | $1,550 | 5,000 | 20 | 5 TB |

IBM lists HD transcoding, ticket and chat support, a live monitoring console, embed control, and API access across the named self-service tiers. Its pricing page says the platform supports simultaneous live streams to multiple channels for 24 hours a day or longer; that is IBM’s capability statement, not an independent performance test. IBM Video Streaming pricing.
How viewer hours can change a 24/7 bill
A stream running continuously does not by itself determine the viewer-hour total. Under a 30-day-month assumption, one person watching continuously in IBM’s player would use 720 viewer hours; additional continuous viewers multiply that usage. A stream with no counted viewers would have a different usage total. The reviewed pages do not establish whether YouTube-hosted viewing is counted by IBM, so do not use YouTube viewership as an IBM billing estimate without confirmation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Published overage rates
For subscriptions started in or after January 2026, IBM lists monthly overage rates of $0.77 per additional viewer hour for Silver, $0.41 for Gold, and $0.31 for Platinum. The applicable rates vary by subscription start date, and IBM says overages may take up to two billing cycles to appear on an invoice. Confirm the rate for the account before projecting charges. IBM Video Streaming overage rates.
Illustration: one continuous viewer on Silver
For an illustrative 30-day month, one continuous viewer in IBM’s player represents 720 hours. Silver includes 100, leaving 620 overage hours. At the rate IBM lists for subscriptions begun in or after January 2026, the arithmetic is 620 × $0.77 = $477.40 in modeled overage; adding the $154 starting price gives $631.40. This is a scenario, not an IBM invoice estimate: it assumes every hour counts as an IBM viewer hour and does not establish the treatment of YouTube viewers, taxes, or account-specific terms.

IBM and YouTube are not established as one delivery workflow
IBM describes Video Streaming as a SaaS service for live and on-demand video, including open or password-protected channels and embeds. IBM’s Marketplace overview distinguishes this public-facing Video Streaming product from IBM Enterprise Video Streaming, intended for more controlled internal or sensitive audiences. The plan families cannot be converted into one another, and plan changes remain within the same family. IBM Video Streaming Marketplace overview.
YouTube’s documented creator workflow has an encoder send video to YouTube using a stream URL and key. YouTube supports software and standalone hardware encoders and recommends RTMPS. The YouTube instructions do not demonstrate that IBM Video Streaming itself can be configured as a direct YouTube destination. Before buying for this specific workflow, ask IBM whether it supports the required relay or delivery path and which audience views count toward viewer-hour billing.

YouTube setup requirements to factor in separately
- First-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become available. The channel must be verified and free of recent live-stream restrictions.
- YouTube’s encoder setup uses a stream URL and stream key; YouTube recommends RTMPS. Keep the key private and configure it only in a supported encoder or service.
- YouTube automatically archives streams shorter than 12 hours. Do not assume a 24/7 broadcast will be archived as one complete video.
- YouTube recommends testing before going live, monitoring stream health, and checking upload bandwidth. Its guidance says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started; professional-grade hardware encoders are recommended for higher-production-value events.

What IBM’s trial does—and does not—let you test
IBM advertises a 30-day no-charge trial. Its support article says only the account owner can view trial content, and shared channel-page URLs do not work for other viewers during the trial. That makes the trial unsuitable as a public audience test without a separate confirmation from IBM. IBM Video Streaming trial details.

It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage pooled across active slots, playlists and 24/7 looping, and StreamNeo team support; every plan has the same features, with only the billing length changing. The first day is free with no card, once per account. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Details: StreamNeo.
