A desktop RTX 3060 can generally deliver about 90–120 FPS at 1080p with sensible high or competitive settings, and roughly 60–90 FPS at 1440p. At 1080p ultra with native rendering, expect closer to 60–70 FPS. These are estimates, not guarantees: the CPU, game update, map, memory, cooling and laptop power limits can all change the result.
RTX 3060 Warzone FPS by resolution
The ranges below are practical expectations for a balanced desktop system, not results guaranteed by the GPU alone. Activision lists the desktop RTX 3060 as a recommended GPU for 60 FPS in most situations with all options set to high; that specification is a target, not a benchmark for every PC. Activision’s PC requirements
| Resolution and settings | Expected FPS | How to read the estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p, low/competitive | Approximately 100–150 FPS | Depends heavily on CPU speed and what is happening in the match; high-end results are not assured. |
| 1080p, high | Approximately 80–120 FPS | A reasonable balance of image quality and speed on a capable desktop. |
| 1080p, ultra, native | Approximately 60–70 FPS | A third-party calculator estimates about 67 FPS; its result is indicative, not a controlled test for every system. CheckFPS estimate |
| 1440p, low/competitive | Approximately 80–120 FPS | Settings and CPU still matter, but the GPU load is more likely to set the limit. |
| 1440p, high | Approximately 60–90 FPS | DLSS Quality or Balanced can be a useful compromise if available in the current game build. |
| 1440p, ultra, native | Approximately 50–55 FPS | The calculator estimates about 53 FPS natively, around 72 with DLSS Quality and 87 with DLSS Performance. Treat all three as estimates, not guaranteed gains. CheckFPS estimate |
| 4K, ultra, native | Approximately 25 FPS | Not a sensible competitive target for this GPU. |
| 4K, ultra, with DLSS | Approximately 36 FPS with Quality; 46 FPS with Performance | Same calculator estimate; image clarity and frame-time consistency may not suit competitive play. CheckFPS estimate |
At 1080p and low settings, Warzone can become CPU-limited: reducing graphics quality further may then do little for FPS. At 1440p, ultra settings or native rendering, the GPU is more likely to be the constraint.
Is an RTX 3060 enough for 60, 120 or 144 FPS?
For 60 FPS
Yes, 1080p high is a reasonable target for a suitably configured desktop. Activision’s current requirements specifically place the desktop RTX 3060 in the recommended tier for 60 FPS in most situations at high settings. Actual performance still depends on the rest of the system and match conditions. Activision’s PC requirements

- Real-Time Ray Tracing In Games For Cutting-Edge, Hyper-Realistic Graphics.
- Dual Fans Cooling Offer Higher Performance Cooling And Much Quieter Acoustic Noise.

For 120 FPS
It is a plausible 1080p target with competitive or medium settings and a fast enough CPU, but not a locked rate in every area or fight. At 1440p, reaching it is more dependent on reduced settings and upscaling.
For 144 FPS
It is possible at 1080p with low or competitive settings on a balanced PC, but do not assume it will hold through demanding scenes. Activision’s competitive requirements specify substantially faster GPUs, including an RTX 4080 or RTX 5070, rather than presenting the RTX 3060 as a 144-FPS card. Activision’s PC requirements

For 165 or 240Hz
The RTX 3060 can sometimes exceed 165 FPS in lighter situations, but it is not a dependable choice for consistently saturating a 165Hz display in Warzone, and 240Hz is an especially poor target. Choose settings for stable frame times rather than an occasional peak reading.

1080p competitive profile
- Set display resolution to 1920×1080 and render resolution to 100% to establish a baseline.
- Use Fullscreen or the current fullscreen option with the lowest latency available.
- Set shadows, screen-space reflections and volumetric effects to Low or Off.
- Turn off depth of field and motion blur; set film grain to 0.
- Disable ray tracing if the option is present.
- Start textures at Normal; use High if VRAM use and performance remain comfortable.
- Enable NVIDIA Reflex if it is offered. Test Enabled + Boost if clocks drop in CPU-heavy situations; NVIDIA describes Boost as helping maintain higher GPU clocks in heavily CPU-bound cases. NVIDIA Reflex guidance
1080p quality profile
Keep textures at Normal or High, retain 100% render resolution, and raise image-quality options selectively. If native ultra settings leave performance near 60–70 FPS, reducing reflections, shadows and volumetrics is a more targeted first step than lowering every setting.
1440p balanced profile
Start with DLSS Quality if available, then try Balanced if you need more speed. Lower shadows, volumetrics and reflections before sacrificing texture quality. DLSS reconstructs an image from a lower internal render resolution, so its performance benefit depends on whether the GPU is the bottleneck and on the selected mode.

Dynamic resolution instead changes internal resolution to pursue an FPS target, which can make sharpness vary. It may be mutually exclusive with DLSS in some game builds. Frame generation, where available, creates additional displayed frames; it should not be mistaken for the same responsiveness as rendering those frames natively. NVIDIA’s original Warzone DLSS announcement recommended Quality for 1080p/1440p and Performance for 4K, but this is historical guidance and current availability or menu behavior may differ. Why two RTX 3060 PCs can get different FPS
Desktop model and graphics memory
The original desktop RTX 3060 has 12GB of GDDR6 and a 192-bit memory interface, according to NVIDIA. A separate 8GB desktop RTX 3060 is a cut-down variant, so do not assume it matches the 12GB model. The RTX 3060 Ti is a different, faster GPU and its results should not be used as an RTX 3060 estimate. NVIDIA RTX 3060 information
CPU and memory
At 1080p low settings, a slow or older CPU can hold back FPS even when the graphics card is not fully loaded. Activision lists a Ryzen 5 1600X or Core i7-6700K for its recommended 60-FPS/high tier, and a Ryzen 5 5600X or Core i7-10700K for its competitive tier. These are official requirement categories, not a promise that every processor in a tier produces identical results. Activision’s PC requirements
Activision lists 12GB RAM for its recommended tier and 16GB for competitive/ultra 4K. For a practical modern gaming setup, 16GB is a sensible baseline; dual-channel memory and supported memory speed can help CPU-limited performance and 1% lows. Close browsers, recording software and overlays while diagnosing stutter.
Laptop power, cooling and graphics routing
A laptop RTX 3060 is not directly comparable to the desktop card. Laptop GPU power limits and cooling vary by model; CPU, plugged-in power mode and whether the GPU routes through a MUX switch or integrated graphics also affect performance. If a laptop result is well below desktop estimates, check those factors before changing graphics settings.

- After a game or driver update, shader compilation may cause temporary stutter; allow it to finish, restart the game and retest before judging performance.
- Thermal throttling, power limits, a nearly full drive or background applications can reduce performance.
- Confirm the game is using the intended resolution and render scale. V-sync, an in-game frame cap or another limiter may keep FPS below expectations.
- Activision’s requirements specify Windows 10 64-bit with the latest update at minimum, Windows 11 64-bit for the recommended tier, DirectX 12 compatibility, AVX support, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, broadband internet and an SSD. How to measure your own Warzone FPS
- Update Windows and the graphics driver, and verify Warzone is installed on an SSD.
- Let shader compilation finish, then restart the game after major driver or graphics changes.
- Choose a resolution, graphics preset, DLSS mode and field of view; keep them unchanged for each comparison.
- Test in an actual match or representative busy area rather than an empty menu.
- Record average FPS and, if available, 1% lows, GPU utilization, per-core CPU utilization, VRAM use, GPU temperature and clock speed.
- Repeat at 1080p and 1440p to see whether performance changes with resolution.
If GPU utilization stays near 95–99%, the graphics card is probably the main limit: lower resolution, try DLSS, or reduce GPU-heavy settings. Low GPU use alongside poor FPS points instead toward a CPU limit, memory configuration, background process, thermal or power limit, or game/driver issue. Similar FPS at 1080p and 1440p is another clue that the CPU may be limiting performance. If VRAM warnings or texture-streaming problems appear, lower texture quality and check available storage rather than assuming the GPU core has failed.
Quick Recap
Should you keep or upgrade an RTX 3060 for Warzone?
- Keep it for 1080p: It remains a reasonable card for 60–120 FPS depending on settings and the rest of the PC. Optimize first and diagnose low GPU utilization before buying another component.
- Use adjusted settings for 1440p: Competitive or balanced settings, plus DLSS when useful, make this resolution viable, but a steady 144Hz is not assured.
- Look elsewhere for 4K or high-refresh play: Native 4K ultra is far below a competitive frame rate in the available estimate, and consistently driving 1440p at high refresh calls for a faster GPU and a capable CPU.
- Upgrade the bottleneck, not the headline spec: If the GPU is underused, investigate CPU performance, dual-channel RAM, thermals and laptop power settings first. A faster GPU will not fix those limits.
