To accept crypto donations while streaming, share either a donation-only public wallet address or a payment link from a crypto processor. Tell viewers the exact coin and blockchain network, such as “USDC on Solana.” A direct wallet transfer will not automatically appear as a normal StreamElements or Streamlabs tip; displaying an alert requires a separate, tested integration.
Choose how viewers will send crypto

If you publish a wallet address, use one intended for donations rather than exposing an address you use for unrelated activity. A public address is not a secret, but anyone can inspect its on-chain transactions and balance.
Set up a wallet or donation link
For direct wallet transfers
- Choose a wallet or exchange account that supports the coin and network you intend to accept. An exchange may make conversion and bank withdrawals easier, but it holds the keys and may restrict accounts or lack service in your country.
- Copy the receiving address for the exact asset and network. If the wallet offers a QR code, confirm it encodes the same address and network.
- Put both the asset and network in your stream panels, bot commands, or other donation instructions. For example, write “USDC on Solana,” not just “USDC.” The same token can exist on multiple blockchains, and a transfer on the wrong network may not arrive.
- Make clear that a transfer can involve network fees and that direct wallet donations do not come with a built-in alert.
For a processor donation page
- Compare current provider terms, supported assets and networks, country availability, custody, withdrawal options, and fees.
- Create a donation page or payment link using the provider’s current setup process, then test that it presents the correct coin and network to supporters.
- Read how the provider reports payment status and what event indicates a payment is final before connecting notifications to a public alert.
A September 2026 Streamer.Guide article reported a 1% service fee for NOWPayments and 1.5% per donation for OxaPay, plus network or withdrawal fees as described there. These are time-sensitive secondary-source figures, not independently verified current quotes; check each provider’s own pricing and terms before signing up.
Make crypto donations trigger a stream alert
A wallet transfer does not become a normal StreamElements or Streamlabs tip by itself. To show an alert, a separate integration must receive a payment notification and create the corresponding alert event. The technical approach described by Streamer.Guide is a starting point, not a substitute for checking current provider and alert-service documentation.

- Receive a processor webhook. Configure the processor to send payment notifications to a server or automation bridge you control.
- Verify the notification. Validate the webhook signature using the processor’s documented method. Do not trust a request merely because it claims a payment happened.
- Wait for final confirmation. Trigger no on-stream donation alert until the processor reports its final confirmed payment status. A pending, failed, or spoofed notification must not be presented as a completed donation.
- Create the alert event. Use the current StreamElements or Streamlabs API or supported integration to submit the tip event, following that service’s live documentation.
- Test the full path. Make a small real payment if appropriate, verify the final status, and confirm the expected alert appears. Keep API credentials off stream and out of public code or shared screenshots.
Do not assume either platform’s ordinary creator donation tools natively accept crypto. The researched guide does not establish native crypto tipping in Twitch, Kick, StreamElements, or Streamlabs’ standard donation flows; verify current official platform and API documentation before relying on any integration.
Protect funds and keep useful records
- Keep secrets private. A public receiving address can be shared; a private key or recovery phrase must never be shown on stream or sent to anyone asking for it.
- Choose custody deliberately. An exchange can simplify cash-out but controls the keys and may restrict access. A self-custody software wallet puts key security and recovery on you. A hardware wallet keeps keys off the streaming PC, but costs money and still depends on safely stored recovery words.
- Consider the balance and risk. A hardware wallet is optional, not a requirement to accept donations. It may make sense if your self-custodied balance is large enough that losing access would matter; Ledger and Trezor are examples named by the guide, not model-specific recommendations.
- Record each receipt. Keep the date and time, asset, network, quantity, value in local currency at receipt, transaction hash, and donor name when known.
Understand platform and charity distinctions
The topic guide says Twitch and Kick rules do not single out crypto tips, while other rules concerning scams, malicious links, gambling promotions, and paid-promotion disclosures may still matter. That is a secondary summary, not a definitive current policy ruling; check each platform’s current terms before promoting a donation method.

Do not describe a personal tip to you as a charitable donation simply because you plan to donate it later. Twitch Help says that money given to a streamer who later gives it to charity is not a charitable donation through Twitch and is not tax deductible on that basis. Check tax treatment where you live
Tax rules depend on jurisdiction and circumstances. For U.S. purposes, the IRS treats digital assets as property rather than currency and says digital-asset income is taxable; that is not a worldwide rule or personal tax advice. Review the IRS digital assets guidance, then confirm how creator tips and later sales or conversions are treated by your local tax authority or a qualified tax professional.
