The PS5 has no dedicated web browser app, but you may be able to reach a restricted browser through the YouTube linking screen. On PS5 and PS5 Pro, the reported route is Settings → Users and Accounts → Linked Services → YouTube → Link → Use Browser. It is an unofficial workaround, not a supported browser feature, and it may change or stop working.
Does the PS5 have an internet browser?
No dedicated browser app appears in the PS5 interface. Sony’s PS5 FAQ says the console does not include one. Unlike the PS4’s visible Internet Browser feature, the PS5 does not offer an equivalent app. The PS5 Pro has the same limitation.
A restricted web-rendering screen can, however, be reached indirectly through a service-linking flow. Sony does not document this as a browser feature, so treat it as a workaround rather than a guaranteed part of the console.
How to access the PS5 browser
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings using the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Users and Accounts, then Linked Services.
- Choose YouTube, then select Link.
- When the linking screen appears, choose Use Browser. Do not scan the QR code or complete YouTube sign-in unless you actually want to link the service.
- On the Google sign-in page, select Terms.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Terms page and select Google in the footer.
- Use Google Search to find the site you need, then open a result.
The route and labels are reported by Tom’s Guide. The precise page behavior may differ with system software, region, account state, or changes to the web page. Google is simply the reported gateway to search and follow links; you do not need a Google account just to search.

If YouTube is already linked
If Use Browser does not appear and YouTube is already linked, try unlinking YouTube and then opening the linking flow again. Current reporting describes this as a possible workaround condition, not an official Sony requirement. Sony explains how to manage linked services in its authorized-apps support guide; that page does not describe browser access.

This is an embedded, restricted experience—not a full substitute for Chrome, Safari, Edge, or a phone browser. Pages that rely on modern web features may not work, and video or interactive content may fail. The limitations are reported in coverage of the workaround, not set out as an official Sony specification. The reported route begins at Google Search; do not count on having a conventional address bar or direct-URL entry.

For security, avoid entering sensitive credentials in this unofficial browser surface when you can use a phone or computer instead. If a page asks you to sign in and you are unsure, leave it and use a trusted device. Sony’s account support page provides account-security and recovery guidance.
Why older Twitter instructions are outdated
Some older guides describe opening the browser through a Twitter/X linking page. That is historical advice, not the current recommended route: newer reporting uses YouTube and does not require a social-media account. See the older TechRadar guide only as context, and follow the YouTube steps above instead.

Troubleshooting
- YouTube is missing from Linked Services: Confirm the PS5 is online, reopen Settings → Users and Accounts → Linked Services, and allow the page to load. Menu wording can vary with language or software changes.
- “Use Browser” is missing: Back out and relaunch the YouTube linking flow. If YouTube is already linked, try unlinking it first. Do not scan the QR code if your goal is browser access. If the option remains absent, Sony or the web service may have changed the flow.
- The Google page is blank or incomplete: Wait for it to finish loading, use the controller carefully, or return to the linking flow and try again. A simpler search or text-based site may load more reliably.
- A site’s video or interactive features do not work: That is a limitation to expect from the restricted browser. Use the site’s official PS5 media app if available, or switch to a phone or computer.
- A site demands a login or modern browser feature: Do not assume the workaround can handle it safely or correctly. Use a trusted browser on another device.
The route depends on both Sony’s interface and a third-party web flow, so restarting the console may help with a temporary loading problem, but it cannot restore a button or page that has been removed.

For serious browsing—including payments, password-protected services, video calls, downloads, and file uploads—use a phone, tablet, or computer. For supported streaming and music services, use the PS5’s official media apps; Sony says these are available through the console’s Media area, with availability varying by region. If you want to access your PS5 from another device, Remote Play is an option, but it does not turn the console into a full desktop browser.
