Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To show listeners which track is playing, add a visible overlay to your OBS scene: use a Text source for manual updates, or a Browser source or metadata integration for automatic updates. The label must be part of the video composition; changing the YouTube broadcast title alone will not put track names over the meditation picture.
Add a track title manually in OBS
- Select the scene. In OBS Studio, choose the scene containing your meditation visual and music.
- Add a Text source. In the Sources dock, select +, then add a Text source. OBS Text sources can display customizable text or read text from a file. See OBS’s Sources Guide.
- Enter the label. Use a concise format such as “Now playing: [track title] — [artist]”. Include only information you know; do not imply an artist or title if the playback source does not provide it.
- Place it on the picture. Position and resize the text in the preview. In the Sources list, keep it above the background or video source so it appears in front. OBS explains source ordering and positioning in its Sources Guide.
- Change it when the music changes. With this manual method, an operator must update the text for each new track. Make a short recording or run an appropriate private test before a public session; OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends testing settings before a first stream.
For a calm meditation scene, keep the label unobtrusive and legible against the image. Check its appearance over both bright and dark parts of the visual before going live.
Make track titles update automatically
Automatic display requires two things: a source of current track information from the actual playback app, and a visible layer that renders that information into the scene. An overlay cannot reliably show track changes if the player or playlist does not expose usable metadata.
Use a Browser source
OBS Browser sources load a webpage or URL into a scene and provide viewport dimensions and custom CSS settings. Add a Browser source from the Sources dock, configure it with the overlay’s URL and the dimensions or styling it requires, then position it above the meditation visual. See the OBS Browser Source guide. Check that the chosen overlay supports your exact player and that it refreshes titles as expected.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use a text-file integration
An integration can read track changes from a compatible playback app and write the current title to a text file. Configure an OBS Text source to read that file, then place the source above the visual. OBS documents text-file input in its Sources Guide. Confirm that the integration updates the same file OBS is reading and handles track changes and unavailable metadata cleanly.
Check overlay compatibility before relying on it
The OBS forum resource Music on Stream describes a browser-based current-song overlay. Its listing says it supports YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, Pretzel, and Epidemic Sound, and can use YouTube chapters or video-description playlists as title inputs. The listing reports its last update as September 18, 2025; these are the resource author’s claims, not independently verified compatibility. Test your chosen player, overlay version, and update behavior before a long stream.

- Manual Text source: simplest when track changes are infrequent, but someone must update each title.
- Browser overlay or metadata integration: can automate changes when it receives track information, but adds compatibility and setup dependencies.
- Any automatic method: test what appears when a track changes and when metadata is missing, rather than assuming every playlist entry has a readable title.
Play music from a playlist without assuming titles will follow
OBS’s Media Source supports listed audio and video formats. OBS also documents a VLC Video source for playlist playback; VLC must be installed, and 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. The OBS Media Sources guide covers these playback options. Playlist playback does not by itself guarantee that an overlay can read each entry’s title: verify metadata access separately.
Keep the on-screen label separate from the YouTube title
The YouTube broadcast title is listing metadata. An OBS Text or Browser source is drawn into the outgoing scene, where viewers can see it over the meditation image. To show each track title in the picture, use that in-scene layer or an equivalent overlay; changing the YouTube listing title is not a substitute.

Check music rights before streaming
A displayed track name or artist attribution does not grant permission to use the music. YouTube says it scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it identifies such content, it may show a placeholder image and warn the creator; if the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube also notes that even a creator with a license may need the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist, or the stream can still be interrupted. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and secure the rights needed for your music before broadcasting.
Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect title
- The label is hidden behind the visual: move the Text or Browser source above the visual in the Sources list.
- The title never changes: manual Text sources require manual edits. For an automatic setup, verify that the playback app supplies track metadata and that the integration or overlay is connected to that exact app.
- The overlay loads but shows no track: check its supported player, URL or integration settings, and whether the current playlist entry exposes a title. Test another known track before relying on it live.
- The title is cut off or difficult to read: adjust the source size and position in the OBS preview, and check it against the scene’s actual image.
- The stream is interrupted after music is detected: review the rights and Content ID allowlisting requirements with the relevant rights owner; attribution on screen does not resolve a rights issue.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the meditation stream should keep running while your computer is off, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded video in the cloud; it does not go live from a camera. For a changing track label, prepare the video with titles already composed into it, or use an appropriate workflow to update the video before upload.
