Add Hindi Bible verses by placing the text in an OBS scene as a text layer or browser-source overlay, then send the encoder output to YouTube Live. Before setting up the graphics, confirm that the specific Hindi translation permits public streaming. Test Devanagari rendering, verse accuracy and readability in the actual stream preview. For a continuous broadcast, plan how the encoder and YouTube session will be restarted and recovered; YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but that does not establish an indefinitely continuous archive.
1. Choose a Hindi translation and confirm permission
Identify the exact edition and translation you intend to display. “Hindi Bible” is not enough to establish reuse rights: the terms differ by translation, and permission to read a text online does not automatically include permission to reproduce it in a public livestream.
- Hindi OV content on the Bible Society of India platform: The BSI end-user license agreement grants a limited license for personal, non-commercial, spiritual and educational purposes, and says copying, modifying or distributing content requires prior written permission. Ask BSI for written permission that covers your church’s intended public stream: BSI End User License Agreement.
- Indian Revised Version Hindi: Its PDF states that the translation is under CC BY-SA 4.0. Sharing and adaptation are allowed subject to the license conditions, including attribution, identifying changes and applying the same license to redistributed contributions. Check the PDF’s actual notice and handle included images separately: Indian Revised Version Hindi PDF.
These examples are not interchangeable. Confirm the terms attached to your chosen edition before you publish its text. YouTube’s Standard YouTube license is the default for uploaded content; selecting a YouTube license does not grant rights to Bible text shown in the stream. See YouTube’s license types.
2. Add the verse to an OBS scene
The simplest method is to enter the approved verse text in an OBS text source. A browser-source overlay can also display verses, including content generated by a separate overlay page. Community projects document both approaches, but the examples found do not establish ready-to-use Hindi support: OBS Bible Stream Verses lists Spanish translations, while PrimeBible for OBS lists KJV as its default. Treat them as examples of overlay mechanics, not proof that a particular tool supports your translation or renders Hindi correctly.

- Prepare the scene: In OBS, select or create the scene used for the church stream. Add the background video or static visual, then add a text source or the overlay as a Browser source. Position it in a high-contrast area with margins from the screen edges.
- Enter the verse: Use text from the source you are permitted to reproduce. Preserve its wording, punctuation and reference. If using a browser overlay, check whether it relies on a local database or an external lookup service; the former can work offline, while the latter depends on that service being available.
- Set the text appearance: Choose a font with Devanagari coverage. Check dependent vowel marks (matras), conjunct characters and line wrapping at the stream’s intended output resolution. Preview both a short verse and a longer, two-line example.
- Check overlay behavior: Some community overlay instructions recommend leaving “Shutdown source when not visible” and “Refresh browser when scene becomes active” unticked. - Inspect the actual output: Check the OBS preview and YouTube preview, then view the result on a phone as well as a full-size monitor. Test the verse against every background type used, so text remains legible when the picture changes.

3. Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, create or select the live stream and locate its server URL and stream key.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the connection details. YouTube’s encoder guide describes the workflow and current Studio steps: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it on screen or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
- Start the encoder and check the YouTube preview for the picture, sound, verse text and reference. Go live only after the preview is correct.
The cited setup guidance establishes the encoder connection workflow, not a minimum computer specification or bandwidth requirement. Whether existing church equipment is suitable depends on the encoder load and the stream configuration you choose.

4. Plan for a continuous broadcast
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that one uninterrupted session can create an indefinitely continuous archive. Test your church’s session length, schedule, watch-page behavior and restart process in YouTube Studio rather than assuming a 24/7 stream will archive as one continuous video.
For a long-running stream, decide who will monitor the encoder, what happens if the computer or connection stops, and how the church will restart the YouTube session. A verse overlay is only one part of continuity: an external lookup source, if used, can fail independently of OBS, while a local text source avoids dependence on that lookup service.

5. Troubleshoot common problems
