To approach sponsors as a live streamer, make it easy for a brand to understand your channel, its audience, why its product fits, and exactly what you can deliver. Build a concise profile or media kit, look for relevant opportunities through platform tools or direct outreach, and review the campaign terms before agreeing. If you promote a product on stream, disclose the relationship clearly and repeat the disclosure periodically.
Prepare your channel before contacting sponsors
A sponsor needs to assess whether your content and audience suit its campaign. Give a prospective partner accurate, current information and a concrete example of the sponsored content you could make.
Build a concise creator profile or media kit
- Channel identity: Explain what you stream, the games or topics you cover, and the community you serve.
- Audience: Include current, verified analytics where available. State the measurement period and distinguish platform-provided figures from your own estimates. Do not invent audience size, demographics, engagement, or campaign results.
- Work samples: Link to representative streams or clips that show your style and production quality.
- Partnership interests: Identify product categories that make sense for your channel and any formats you would be comfortable delivering.
- Proposed deliverable: Describe a plausible activation, such as a live product mention, sponsored segment, or agreed on-screen placement. Make clear what evidence you could provide afterward, such as a clip or campaign report, if the brand requests it.
Twitch’s Creator Profile lets Partners and Affiliates share channel information and sponsorship interests with brands that have an advertising relationship with Twitch. Twitch says completing the profile can increase the chance of sponsorship opportunities; it does not guarantee an offer. The profile can use official Twitch audience and demographic data when you connect with brands.
Write a specific, brief pitch
Address an appropriate partnership or creator-marketing contact and tailor the message to the brand. A useful pitch answers five questions: who you are, who watches, why the brand fits, what you propose to deliver, and what you can document after the campaign. Keep audience claims verifiable and avoid promising sales, reach, or results you cannot substantiate. There is no established universal pitch format or response rate.
Find opportunities that fit your channel
There is no single route to a sponsorship. Platform discovery tools can surface opportunities, but eligibility, matching, application steps, and campaign terms differ. An invitation or approval to apply is a lead—not a promise of selection or payment.

Twitch Creator Sponsorships
Start by completing and updating your Creator Profile. In an announcement dated August 20, 2026, Twitch said Affiliates must complete Creator Sponsorship Certification to be eligible for opportunities. Creators must accept the Sponsorship Portal terms and complete the certification. Twitch says it sends an email and notification when a creator’s profile matches an opportunity. These are eligibility and discovery steps; a match does not guarantee selection. Check the current creator dashboard and terms because availability and requirements can change.
Other platform routes
Twitch announced a partnership with Wehype in August 2026 to surface additional third-party offers in the dashboard. Twitch had previously described StreamElements as an early sponsorship partner and said platform offers were intended to complement other ways creators find sponsors. Treat these as platform pathways whose availability may change, and check the dashboard for what is currently offered to your account.

Streamlabs has a separate sponsorship application route. Creators apply, and if approved receive a notification and contract. Streamlabs says campaign requirements vary; its support information currently ties campaign access to streaming from Streamlabs Desktop and says some campaigns may require Twitch clips. Review the live application and campaign brief rather than assuming another platform’s process or terms apply.

Independent outreach remains an option. Identify a brand whose customers plausibly overlap with your actual community, find an appropriate partnership contact, and send a concise, tailored proposal with relevant channel information and work samples. Do not treat outreach as a guaranteed route to a deal; no reliable universal success rate is established.

Review the brief and agreement before you accept
Read the campaign brief and the actual agreement, then resolve unclear terms in writing before committing. Requirements are campaign-specific, not universal industry standards.
- Deliverables and placement: Confirm the number and format of live mentions, segments, on-screen assets, links, codes, panels, clips, or follow-up posts.
- Schedule and approvals: Check stream dates, submission deadlines, review or approval steps, and what proof the brand or platform expects.
- Payment: Confirm the amount and currency, who pays, the payment trigger, timing, and any conditions that could delay or prevent payment.
- Content rights: Ask whether the brand can reuse your stream, clips, name, or likeness; where it can use them; and for how long.
- Exclusivity and cancellation: Understand any category restrictions, exclusivity period, cancellation rights, early-termination terms, and what happens if a deliverable becomes impossible.
- Product claims: Clarify which claims are required or prohibited. You must be able to speak honestly about your own experience; do not claim to have used a product or achieved a result if you have not.
Streamlabs’ current FAQ says payment timing is at the sponsor’s discretion. It gives a 30–45 day target after approval while explicitly reserving that discretion. That is Streamlabs-specific guidance, not a general payment norm or a guarantee for every campaign.

Disclose sponsorships during the stream
Twitch defines branded content broadly: it includes content featuring, using, discussing, or promoting a product or service in exchange for value such as payment, goods, or services. Twitch requires creators to use its branded-content tool when a livestream contains branded content. The creator and brand remain responsible for applicable legal requirements.

Put the disclosure in plain language close to the endorsement and make it hard to miss. For a live stream, repeat it periodically so viewers who join after the start see it too. FTC staff cautions creators not to assume a platform disclosure tool alone is sufficient.

As the Federal Trade Commission staff put it in Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers (November 2019): “If making an endorsement in a live stream, the disclosure should be repeated periodically so viewers who only see part of the stream will get the disclosure.”
Use a clear statement that fits the relationship, such as “This stream is sponsored by [brand]” or “I received this product free from [brand].” Follow any applicable platform and campaign requirements as well. The guidance above summarizes Twitch policy and U.S. FTC staff guidance; legal obligations vary by jurisdiction and situation, so it is not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Deliver the campaign and keep a record
- Save the signed agreement and the final campaign brief.
- Check the required placements, timing, claims, links, codes, and disclosure wording before going live.
- Deliver only what you agreed to, and make endorsements truthful to your actual experience.
- Save the relevant VOD or clips and any other proof the campaign requires.
- Submit clips or campaign evidence through the stated platform process and keep a record of submissions and payment communications.
Streamlabs says some campaigns require creators to submit clips after streaming and that campaign assets and content are reviewed before a payout decision. Follow the instructions for your specific campaign; another sponsor or platform may use a different process.
