Bandai Namco describes Nightreign as a standalone adventure in the ELDEN RING universe. It released on May 30, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

What is Libra weak to?
GameSpot’s boss guide reports that Libra is weak to Madness damage. It also identifies frostbite and blood loss as alternatives, which may be more practical if Madness weapons or spells do not appear during your run or do not suit your build. The guide does not establish one universally best weapon or build.
Choose from the options your expedition actually provides. A useful preparation check is whether your damage exploits one of those reported vulnerabilities, whether your team can pressure Libra from range, and whether someone can interrupt its chant or break its protective effect.

How do you survive Libra’s attacks?
GameSpot characterizes Libra as fast and describes staff attacks, Madness sigils, a chant that builds Madness, and a protective sphere that can increase the boss’s damage resistance while it remains intact. Its recommendations are guide-reported tactics, not guaranteed outcomes across every patch.
- Move out of marked sigils. When Libra marks an area, dodge clear rather than staying in place to finish an attack.
- Interrupt the chant if you can. GameSpot recommends using an ultimate art to stop it when the opportunity is available.
- Break the protective sphere. An offensive ultimate may help break Libra’s shell; leaving the sphere intact can make the boss more resistant to damage.
- Collect orange crystals. The guide recommends these to reduce accumulated Madness.
- Keep ranged pressure going. In a team, ranged attacks can maintain damage while Libra is occupied with another player.
Should you make a deal with the Scale-Bearing Merchant?
There is no blanket yes or no: each offer trades a benefit for a drawback. Read the terms shown in-game, then ask whether the benefit helps your build enough to justify its specific cost. A drawback that undermines your main damage approach, for example, may outweigh an attractive general benefit.
GameSpot reports that declining to bargain or attacking before making a deal did not appear to cause a negative effect in its account, while qualifying that observation with “as far as we can tell.” Treat that as the guide’s experience, not a guarantee of a mechanic across all patches.

How should a team prepare?
Nightreign is built around three-player cooperative expeditions that culminate in Nightlord fights. Bandai Namco’s overview advises Nightfarers to build weapons and tools around each Nightlord’s strengths and weaknesses. Against Libra, coordinate around the options your run offers rather than forcing a fixed composition.
