How to Broadcast a 24/7 Aarti Playlist on YouTube Using a VPS

Run an aarti playlist continuously on YouTube with a VPS encoder—while accounting for stream settings, bandwidth, copyright, recovery, and YouTube’s 12-hour archive warning.

You can broadcast a 24/7 aarti playlist by running a software encoder on an always-on VPS and sending its audio-and-video output to YouTube Live over RTMPS. Before going live, verify that your channel is eligible, use music you have rights to stream, test the feed and plan for the fact that YouTube may not capture a broadcast lasting more than 12 hours. This guide explains the do-it-yourself setup and its limits; no VPS size or FFmpeg command is established as a universal requirement.

What you need before you start

  • A verified YouTube channel that currently meets livestream eligibility rules. YouTube’s Help page, current as accessed October 3, 2026, says streamers must be at least 16 and the channel must have had no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio because platform rules can change: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
  • An always-on VPS with enough outbound network capacity for your chosen stream settings. YouTube does not prescribe a minimum VPS CPU, memory, or provider plan for this workflow; test the actual encoder workload and connection before relying on it.
  • A software encoder that can read your playlist and send an encoded feed to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming; a professional hardware encoder is an option for higher-production events, not a stated prerequisite for a file-based playlist: YouTube Help: Go live with an encoder.
  • A playlist of aarti recordings and a visual element, such as a still image or a looped devotional visual. The visual is an implementation choice, not a YouTube requirement.
  • Permission for the compositions and sound recordings, including the planned territories and live and replay uses.

Set up the YouTube stream

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule an encoder stream, then retrieve the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. YouTube’s interface can change, so follow the labels displayed in your account.
  2. Keep the stream key private. It is the credential that lets an encoder send video to the correct YouTube stream; do not put it in a public script, screenshot, description, or message. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
  3. Use the ingest details YouTube provides for the specific stream. YouTube supports RTMP and RTMPS encoder ingest and recommends RTMPS for ordinary content; use it when your encoder supports it. RTMPS encrypts the connection between encoder and YouTube. Current protocol and encoder guidance: YouTube Live Streaming API: Ingestion protocol comparison.

Prepare the aarti playlist and visual

Use media that is cleared for your use

Confirm that you have the rights needed for both the underlying composition and the particular recording. A devotional or traditional subject does not automatically make a modern recording free to use. Keep permission records, including any limits by territory, live transmission, and replay or archiving.

Make the playback continuous

Arrange the files so the encoder can play them in sequence and repeat the list without unintended silence, abrupt gaps, or a missing file stopping the cycle. Normalize playback levels carefully so one track is not unexpectedly much louder than the next. Choose an audio-and-video format supported by your encoder; the exact playlist and command syntax depend on the software and media files, so validate the complete cycle rather than assuming it will loop correctly.

A still image or looped visual can provide video for an audio-led stream. Check the preview for the right visual, legible text if used, and any unintended black frames. YouTube’s sources do not require a particular devotional image or visual style.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Configure the encoder on the VPS

Install a software encoder on the VPS and configure it to read the playlist, produce a supported audio/video stream, and send that stream to the YouTube ingest URL using the stream key. The exact command depends on the encoder, operating system, playlist format, and whether the files can be passed through or need transcoding. No single VPS specification or tested command is established here, so do not treat an example from another setup as a guaranteed production configuration.

Use conservative, supported stream settings

YouTube’s encoder guidance, current as accessed October 3, 2026, lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Choose a resolution and bitrate from YouTube’s current encoder settings rather than assuming a higher resolution benefits a static visual. Match the selected settings to the supported bitrate range for that resolution: YouTube Help: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

If the source media already matches the stream format, a workflow that copies compatible encoded media may use less VPS processing than transcoding. If conversion is required, test the encoder under sustained load; the available sources do not establish what CPU or memory a specific conversion needs.

Leave bandwidth headroom

YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the stream bitrate. Include both primary and backup streams in the calculation if you send both. Confirm the VPS’s actual outbound capacity and stability under load; a nominal plan speed alone does not demonstrate that the feed will remain healthy. YouTube’s network guidance: YouTube Help: Troubleshoot your live stream.

Test, start, and monitor the broadcast

  1. Start the encoder with the stream in preview or test mode where available. Confirm YouTube receives the feed and inspect stream-health messages in Live Control Room.
  2. Check that both audio and video are present, the playlist advances, the loop returns to its beginning, and levels remain consistent across multiple tracks.
  3. Watch for dropped frames, network interruptions, encoder overload, and playlist errors. Resolve these before making the stream public.
  4. When the preview is healthy, use YouTube Studio’s controls to go live. Keep an eye on the VPS process and YouTube stream health while the broadcast is running.
  5. Test any backup encoder or recovery arrangement before depending on it. YouTube recommends testing failover; this does not guarantee that a particular VPS or encoder setup will recover unattended.

Plan for recovery and recording

A 24/7 broadcast and a complete archive are different goals. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, recommends keeping a local archive backup, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a complete recording matters, arrange a separate recording and verify that it is actually growing; do not rely on the platform archive for one uninterrupted day-long stream. YouTube’s current archive guidance: YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

You could instead use shorter live sessions, but that introduces planned interruptions and requires its own restart and monitoring plan. YouTube’s published guidance does not establish a guaranteed automatic process for dividing an unattended 24/7 broadcast into complete archives. Check the current Studio controls and validate the recording workflow before production.

Copyright and YouTube interruptions

YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A licensed track may still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Contact the relevant rights holder about allowlisting when needed, and do not assume that a license alone prevents a match or interruption. YouTube places the responsibility for necessary rights on the content provider, including music licensing rights: YouTube Terms of Service.

Common problems and fixes

  • YouTube does not receive the feed: Check that the encoder uses the current ingest URL and matching stream key, that the key has not been reset, and that the VPS can reach the selected RTMPS endpoint.
  • The stream health is poor or frames drop: Check encoder load and outbound network stability, verify the bitrate against YouTube’s current settings for the chosen resolution, and retain the recommended bandwidth headroom.
  • Audio is missing, uneven, or interrupted: Check that the encoder recognizes the audio format, confirm playlist paths and track transitions, and listen through a full playlist cycle before going live.
  • The playlist stops at the end: Verify the encoder’s repeat or playlist behavior and test more than one full cycle. A stream that plays once is not proof that its loop is configured.
  • YouTube interrupts a track or the stream: Review any Content ID or live-stream notice, confirm your rights for both composition and recording, and ask the rights owner about channel allowlisting where appropriate.
  • No complete replay appears: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Check the separate local recording rather than assuming Studio will have a complete archive.
