How to Broadcast a Hindi Online Radio Station to YouTube from an Android Phone

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use an Android encoder app—not the YouTube app’s camera-led mobile broadcast—to send your station’s audio to a YouTube Live stream. Create the stream in YouTube Studio, enter its server URL and private stream key in an Android encoder, route the station feed into that app, and give the stream a suitable visual. Before going live, confirm that your station has the rights to simulcast and archive its Hindi programming on YouTube.

Before you start: clear the rights and choose the right YouTube route

A radio station’s permission to broadcast online does not automatically include permission to rebroadcast its programmes on YouTube. You need the necessary rights for both live transmission and any archived playback in the relevant territories. Music rights can involve artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants; local broadcast licensing, registration, consent, or notification requirements may also apply. Confirm the scope with your station and rights holders before testing publicly. YouTube’s live-streaming terms explain the rights obligation.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the video with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or end it. Even with a licence, a rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent interruptions. Arrange any required allowlisting before the broadcast. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming copyrighted content.

The most clearly documented phone workflow for station audio is an encoder app that accepts YouTube’s server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe that connection and list Android-capable options including PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, and Streamlabs. The YouTube app’s mobile-live flow is camera-oriented; do not assume it can directly relay audio playing in a separate radio or music app.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Check channel and phone eligibility

As of YouTube Help checked on October 3, 2026, YouTube lists these requirements for mobile live streaming on Android. They apply to YouTube’s mobile-live feature; using an encoder is a separate streaming method, but it still has to follow YouTube’s general live-stream policies.

Requirement What YouTube lists
Subscribers At least 50 for Android mobile live streaming
Account Verified channel
Live-stream status Live streaming enabled, with no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days
Phone Android 8.0 or later
First mobile stream Activation may take up to 24 hours
Channels below 1,000 subscribers YouTube may limit the mobile-live audience and set the archive to private by default

These are platform rules, not guarantees of audience size or reach, and YouTube can change them. Check the current Android mobile-live eligibility page before planning a broadcast. The limits described there concern mobile live streaming; do not treat them as proof that every encoder workflow has identical eligibility conditions.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

Set up the broadcast from your Android phone

  1. Confirm rights and account readiness. Resolve YouTube simulcast and archive rights, Content ID allowlisting if needed, and any applicable territory-specific requirements. Verify that your intended streaming route is available on the channel.
  2. Create or schedule the YouTube Live stream. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and locate its stream URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder instructions cover the server URL/key workflow. Treat the key like a password: do not post it, include it in screenshots, or send it to anyone who should not be able to broadcast on your channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
  3. Install and configure an Android encoder. Choose an app listed by YouTube, such as PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, or Streamlabs. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the app’s YouTube or custom-RTMP connection settings. App labels and screens can change, so follow the current in-app setup rather than relying on an outdated menu path.
  4. Give the radio stream a visual. Add station artwork or a programme card that identifies the station and current show; including the host and segment is useful for listeners. A visual presentation is practical guidance, not a stated YouTube rule. The official mobile-live workflow is camera-oriented, so do not assume an unrelated audio player will automatically provide the picture or audio source your encoder needs.
  5. Route the station audio into the encoder. If the programme is playing on a separate mixer or device, connect its output to a phone-compatible audio interface and select that input in the encoder. YouTube documents connecting external audio hardware to an encoder, and Streamlabs lists external audio channels among its mobile audio settings. Whether a particular interface works depends on the exact phone, Android version, app, connector, and output level; confirm the match and routing on your own equipment. YouTube’s encoder guidance and Streamlabs mobile audio settings provide relevant setup context.
  6. Test privately or unlisted where available. Start a setup check before announcing the programme. Listen to the returned YouTube stream on a second device and check that the visual appears, the station audio is present and at a suitable level, and the phone’s connection remains stable. This is an operational check, not a guarantee against later rights or network interruptions.
  7. Start the public broadcast. Once the test is satisfactory, switch to the intended visibility or scheduled start in YouTube Studio and begin the encoder stream. Keep the encoder app in the foreground unless you have tested a supported background mode on that phone.

Choose an encoder based on your audio path

YouTube lists PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, and Streamlabs as Android-capable encoder options. The cited guidance does not establish a controlled quality ranking among them, so choose by how well the app works with your actual input, visual, and operating routine.

  • External mixer or interface: Check whether the app can select the external audio channel and whether its controls let you monitor and set an appropriate level.
  • Need to switch apps: PRISM documents an Android background-broadcast option after enabling “Allow display over other apps.” This may help manage another app while streaming, but check the current setting and test the exact phone before relying on it. PRISM’s mobile guide describes its option.
  • Station output on another device: Plan a compatible physical audio connection rather than assuming the encoder can capture playback from a separate app. The sources do not establish that direct capture works across Android phones and encoder apps.

Troubleshoot the most likely failures

  • You cannot start a mobile broadcast: Check subscriber count, channel verification, whether live streaming is enabled, recent live-stream restrictions, Android version, and whether YouTube’s possible first-stream activation wait has elapsed. Recheck YouTube’s current eligibility page because its requirements can change.
  • The stream is live but silent: Confirm the encoder’s selected input, interface connection, mixer output routing, and phone permissions. Test the same physical setup locally before the next public programme.
  • The encoder shows video but not the station feed: The phone may be sending its microphone or another input instead of the mixer/interface. Select the intended external channel in the app and verify the signal with a second-device playback check.
  • The broadcast is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: Investigate a Content ID match. Confirm the rights cover YouTube live transmission and archives, then ask the relevant rights owner whether your channel must be allowlisted. A general station licence alone may not prevent automated interruption.
  • The stream stops when you switch apps: Background operation depends on the app and phone configuration. For PRISM, check “Allow display over other apps”; test the precise workflow before depending on it for a scheduled show.
  • YouTube rejects the connection: Recheck that the encoder has the current server URL and stream key for the intended stream. If the key was exposed, reset it and update the encoder. Keep the key private.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep pre-recorded Hindi programming playing on YouTube around the clock, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload your video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos, not a live microphone or camera feed, so it is not a substitute for phone-based live radio input. Once configured, nothing has to stay on at home; the video streams as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly price is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free day.
