A hosted site builder is usually the simplest route if you want visual editing and minimal technical upkeep; choose based on your domain, publishing, commerce, and maintenance needs rather than assuming one builder suits every streamer.
Decide what the website needs to do
Pick one primary purpose before choosing a platform. Your site might be a cross-platform link hub, an archive of clips and guides, a place for community updates, a business-contact page, or a shop. A first version can cover a few of these without trying to become a full portal.
- Link hub: Make it easy to find your Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and other official profiles.
- Content archive: Organize selected videos, clips, guides, or posts that visitors can browse later.
- Schedule and updates: Tell visitors when you expect to stream and where to find the broadcast.
- Business contact: Provide a reliable route for sponsorship, press, or collaboration enquiries.
- Commerce or membership: Add a shop, paid content, or memberships only when you have a real offer and have checked the associated costs and terms.
Keep the main action obvious. If the goal is to bring people to a live channel, make the watch link and next stream time more prominent than secondary pages.
Choose a name, domain, and platform
Use a name viewers can find
Choose a domain consistent with the public name you use on stream. It should be easy to spell and say aloud, and should not be easy to confuse with another creator or brand. Before committing, check spelling and whether you can use the same identity across your channel profiles.

Decide between a hosted builder and more technical control
A hosted builder can combine templates, hosting, domain connection, and optional commerce features. Wix and Squarespace both describe website workflows and features relevant to creators, but those descriptions are not an independent quality comparison or hands-on test. Choose by the actual work you need the site to do.
Wix says its free site URL retains the wixsite.com/siteaddress portion, while connecting a custom domain requires an upgraded plan. Build the first version of your site
- Set the headline and purpose. State what you stream and who might enjoy it. Be specific enough that a first-time visitor understands the channel without knowing you already.
- Create the core pages. Start with Home, About, Watch or Clips, Schedule, and Contact or Business. Add Community or Shop only if you have useful, current material for them.
- Feature selected content. Choose a few representative videos or clips rather than filling the page with every upload. Use embeds only where the relevant platform permits them and verify that they display as expected.
- Make the next stream easy to understand. Show the expected time and the platform where you plan to go live. If your schedule changes often, use wording that you can keep accurate rather than leaving outdated dates on the homepage.
- Add clear navigation and contact details. Label links by destination, keep the important pages easy to reach, and use a contact route you will continue to check.
- Preview on a phone and test the links. Check that text is readable, navigation is straightforward, images have useful descriptions where appropriate, and the channel, social, and contact links work. These are practical checks; the cited materials do not establish a technical accessibility certification or test result.
- Publish and maintain it. Remove stale announcements, update schedule details when they change, and replace broken links. A compact site that stays accurate is more useful than a larger one that goes neglected.
Connect your site to Twitch without duplicating it
Your website can serve as a stable hub across platforms, while your Twitch channel page handles Twitch-specific context and viewing. Twitch’s Channel Page Setup guidance covers branding such as profile and banner imagery and accent color, plus a bio, social links, schedule, channel trailer, info panels, and suggested channels: Twitch Channel Page Setup. Keep the site useful on its own, and link the two clearly rather than making visitors hunt between them.

Use artwork, music, clips, logos, and other material you created or have permission to use. That in-platform disclosure tool is not a substitute for any disclosures that may be required on your separate website. Keep stream hosting separate from your website
A website gives viewers a place to find your channel, schedule, and selected content; it does not itself keep a livestream running. If you use prerecorded video for a continuous YouTube stream, treat that as a separate streaming setup and make sure the video and audio are yours or properly licensed.
