To buy Fortnite Crew for your child, subscribe on the Epic Games account they use for Fortnite, using the Item Shop, Epic Games Store, or Fortnite’s Battle Pass tab. An adult must make the purchase and authorize the recurring payment. Choose the platform your child plays most, check that platform’s purchase controls, and plan to cancel through the same platform that bills the subscription if you don’t want it to renew.
Before you subscribe: confirm the right account and platform
First, check that Fortnite is signed in to your child’s intended Epic Games account and that the platform account they play on is linked to it. Epic says Crew content can be accessed on platforms linked to the same Epic account, but the original purchase platform must be accessed for subscription content to be delivered. The subscription is associated with the platform where it was purchased until cancellation and is not transferable. Some V-Bucks may also be restricted to the platform where they were obtained. See Epic’s cross-platform subscription guidance and Fortnite Crew terms.

For the simplest setup, buy on the platform your child plays most. Consider where you’ll manage the subscription and its payment controls, too: the purchase platform determines which store handles billing and cancellation.
Where can you buy Fortnite Crew?
Epic lists three ways to start a subscription: the Fortnite Item Shop, the Epic Games Store, or the Battle Pass tab in Fortnite. Choose an available route on the platform you intend to use for the subscription. Epic’s subscription guide explains the entry points.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
How to subscribe
- Sign in to the child’s account. Open Fortnite or the Epic Games Store and verify the Epic account before proceeding.
- Open a subscription entry point. In Fortnite, go to the Item Shop or Battle Pass tab, or use the Epic Games Store.
- Have an adult complete checkout. Epic’s terms require the purchaser to be an adult under the legal age of majority in their country of residence. The adult must authorize recurring payments and use a payment method they are allowed to use.
- Review the current offer and billing details. Check the price, included benefits, renewal terms, and platform shown at checkout. Crew’s price and benefits can change, so rely on the current checkout information rather than an older listing.
- Complete the purchase and check delivery. Launch Fortnite on the original purchase platform so the subscription content can be delivered. Then check other platforms linked to the same Epic account if your child plays across devices.
Check parental purchase controls
Epic’s payment controls and console or mobile store controls are separate. An Epic payment PIN does not control purchases made through platform stores, so review the controls for the store that will bill Crew. Epic’s parental controls page describes Epic-side options. If Xbox displays “You need an adult to buy this” during Crew checkout, Epic says Ask to Buy is enabled on the Xbox account; see its Xbox purchase-message help.

Fortnite Crew automatically renews until canceled. Cancel through the platform that billed the subscription: Epic-billed PC or mobile subscriptions can be managed through Epic’s account subscriptions page or launcher, while console subscriptions are managed through the relevant platform. Epic says cancellation prevents future renewals, but current-period benefits remain until that billing period ends. Use Epic’s cancellation instructions and subscription management instructions for the appropriate route.
