Use the official WoW Token exchange: spend gold to buy a Token from the Auction House and redeem it for 30 days of game time, or buy a Token with money in the in-game Shop and sell it through the Token exchange for gold. Blizzard does not allow Tokens to be traded or sold by other methods. Check the live in-game offer because prices and some redemption options depend on your region and account.
Choose the direction that matches what you have

These are the official Token routes described by Blizzard’s WoW Token FAQ. The exchange is regional, and the game interface shows the options available to your account.
How to buy WoW game time with gold
- Open the Auction House and select the WoW Token section.
- Review the current regional price shown in the game. Token purchases through this exchange have no bidding process.
- Buy the Token. It is delivered through your in-game mailbox.
- Redeem it for 30 days of game time, or choose Battle.net Balance if the option is available for your account.
A Token bought with gold becomes soulbound, so you cannot resell it. Blizzard’s Token FAQ describes the redemption options and the no-resale restriction.
How to buy WoW gold with money
- Open the World of Warcraft in-game Shop and buy a WoW Token.
- Open the Auction House’s WoW Token exchange and list the Token there.
- Review the quoted gold amount before confirming. Blizzard says the quoted amount is fixed for that sale after listing.
Blizzard says Tokens “cannot be traded or sold any other way.” You cannot use ordinary player-to-player trading or another sales method to move a Token for gold. See Blizzard’s Token FAQ for the official rules.

Check the live price and account options
The Token’s gold value changes dynamically with supply and demand. The amount shown to a seller before listing is the relevant quote for that sale; old prices or figures from another region are not reliable guidance for what you will receive now. Check the in-game Token exchange rather than relying on a price quoted elsewhere. Blizzard explains the dynamic pricing model in its WoW Token FAQ.
Battle.net Balance redemption is not universal. Whether it is offered, and the currency amount, depend on supported regions and the currency tied to the registered Battle.net account. The in-game Shop and Token interface show the choices for your account.

Why off-platform gold sellers are risky
Buying gold from an outside seller is not the same as using Blizzard’s Token exchange. Blizzard’s account agreement prohibits commercial collection of in-game currency, items, or resources for sale outside the platform and says policy violations can lead to sanctions, including suspension or cancellation. That is Blizzard’s contractual policy; it does not establish that every buyer will receive a particular penalty.
Blizzard’s original WoW Token announcement warned that third-party gold operations could involve compromised accounts, fake product codes, hacking tools, and disruptive advertising. Those are risks Blizzard described historically, not a current measured rate of how often they occur. To avoid both the policy and account-security risks, use the official in-game Shop and Token exchange.
