Roblox generally does not let every user manually select a new country or region. According to Roblox’s current Account Location guidance, location is detected automatically from device signals, including the IP address. VPN use can make that detection less accurate.
If you genuinely moved, use Roblox from your real location without a VPN or proxy and give the system time to update. If the location remains wrong, ask Roblox Support to review it. If your actual problem is language, app availability, payment currency, gift cards, chat, or region-restricted content, you may need to change a separate setting instead.
First, identify what you actually need to change
Search results often use country, region, and location as if they mean the same thing. In practice, Roblox, your phone’s app store, your payment provider, and a VPN can all report different locations.

How to check your Roblox account location
On the Roblox website
- Go to Roblox and sign in.
- Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Settings.
- Open Account Info.
- Look for the account-location information.
In the Roblox mobile app
- Open Roblox and sign in.
- Tap More, represented by the three-dot icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Account Info.
Roblox identifies Account Settings → Account Info as the location for this information. The exact layout can vary slightly between the website and app, so update Roblox or use the website if the mobile page does not show the setting correctly.

Can you manually choose a new country in Roblox?
There is no universal, currently documented Roblox workflow that lets every user open a country dropdown, select a country, and save it. Roblox’s current user-facing guidance says that account location is detected automatically using device signals, including IP address, and that the system uses general regional location over a period of time. It does not document a normal self-service country-change button.
Some older guides describe an Account Country field or say that the country could be changed only once every 365 days. That information should be treated as historical rather than as the current procedure for every account. A historical Roblox Developer Forum discussion mentions the 365-day limitation, while a current Creator Hub reference lists technical account-country API endpoints. Neither source proves that ordinary users should manually call those endpoints or that every account has an editable country control.
Do not use browser-console scripts, undocumented request payloads, cookie-authenticated API calls, or old endpoint instructions to force a change. They can expose your account and are not a supported consumer solution. If an editable control happens to appear on your account, use only your genuine country and do not assume that changing it will fix app stores, billing, chat, or a particular experience.
What to do after moving to another country
Roblox does not publish a guaranteed update time. Do not rely on claims that the location will change in 24 hours, several days, or exactly one week.
- Confirm that the move is genuine. A short trip or temporary travel connection is not the same as changing your country of residence.
- Turn off VPNs, proxies, and location-spoofing tools. Roblox says VPN use may affect the accuracy of account-location detection.
- Use Roblox normally from your actual new location. Avoid repeatedly switching between countries or networks while troubleshooting.
- Check Account Info periodically. Use the website if the mobile app does not display the information.
- Change your platform store country only if the app-store problem requires it. Apple and Google have separate rules, balances, subscriptions, and payment requirements.
- Contact Roblox Support if the location remains incorrect after a reasonable period. Ask for a review rather than demanding a guaranteed manual override.
Community reports describe both long delays and cases where automatic correction did not happen, but those reports are anecdotal and do not create an official deadline or guarantee.
How to ask Roblox Support to review the location
Use Roblox’s official Contact Us information or the Submit a request form. The form generally asks for information such as your username, device, help category, and a detailed description. Include screenshots or purchase information when they are relevant to the problem.
Include these details
- Your Roblox username, but not your password.
- The country Roblox currently shows in Settings → Account Info.
- Your actual country of residence.
- Whether you recently moved and the approximate move date.
- Whether a VPN, proxy, or other location-spoofing tool was being used.
- Your device model and operating system.
- A screenshot of the incorrect location.
- The practical consequence, such as an incorrect regional app, currency problem, failed purchase, or feature restriction.
You can use this wording:
My Roblox account appears to have the wrong account location. I currently live in [country], but Account Info shows [detected country]. I moved on or about [date]. I am using Roblox from my actual location and am not trying to bypass regional restrictions. Please review the account location and let me know whether you need additional information.
Roblox’s public Account Location and Contact Us articles do not promise that Support will manually override the automated system, specify a standard residency document, or provide a fixed response time. Support may ask for additional information, but a review is not a guaranteed country change.

Never send these items
Roblox warns users not to share sensitive account credentials. Do not send:
- Your password.
- Browser cookies or session tokens.
- Two-step-verification codes.
- Backup or recovery codes.
- Full payment-card numbers.
- Login details to anyone claiming they can change your country for you.
Roblox says employees will not ask for your login information. If someone requests identity or residency evidence, verify that the request is inside the official Roblox support system before providing anything.
If Roblox is in the wrong language
Language is a separate account setting. You do not need to change your country to change the interface language.
- Sign in to Roblox.
- Open Settings.
- Select Account Info.
- Under Personal, find Language.
- Choose your preferred language.
- Allow the page to reload, or select Save if it does not reload automatically.

If you cannot download the correct Roblox app
Roblox publishes regional apps, and its Account Location guidance says access to some versions may be limited when the account location is not in the target region. If you are downloading a new version through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, Roblox instructs users to set the relevant store location to the correct region first.
This is a platform-store change, not a Roblox account-country change.
Apple App Store
Apple may require you to spend remaining account balance, cancel subscriptions that block the change, complete pending transactions, and add a valid payment method for the new country. Review Apple’s country or region change requirements before switching.
Google Play
Google generally requires you to be located in the new country and to have a payment method from that country. Google’s current guidance says there must generally be at least 90 days between country changes, and that the profile may take up to 48 hours to update. Changing the Play country can affect app access, subscriptions, Play balance, and Play Points. See Google Play’s country and profile instructions.

Changing Apple or Google’s country does not automatically guarantee that Roblox’s account location will change. Change the platform store only when its apps or payment system are actually the source of the problem.
If Robux prices or currency are wrong
Currency can depend on several systems at once: Roblox’s detected location, the platform used for payment, your billing details, the payment provider, and the specific item or experience.
Roblox says native pricing is available only in some countries. Where native pricing is unavailable, prices may appear in U.S. dollars; payment providers may convert the amount into another currency. Roblox also says card billing information must match the records held by the financial institution. Read the official currency and payment guidance.
For mobile purchases, the Apple or Google account country may matter as much as—or more than—the Roblox account location. For in-experience items, creators can use regional pricing, so two players may see different prices without either player changing an account setting.

- Subscription renewal behavior.
- Console-store pricing.
- The price of a particular item inside an experience.
If a gift card from another country will not redeem
Roblox’s current gift-card guidance says Roblox codes can be redeemed worldwide and that their value is automatically converted to the account’s local currency when redeemed. Therefore, do not assume that a gift card failed solely because it was purchased in another country.
If redemption fails:
- Use the official Roblox redemption page rather than a third-party website.
- Check that the code was entered correctly.
- Confirm that the card was activated by the retailer.
- Keep the physical card, receipt, purchase date, retailer, and country information.
- Contact Roblox Support with the username, error screenshot, and purchase details. Provide code information or a receipt only through the official support process if requested.
Changing your Roblox country is not the official fix for an invalid, inactive, mistyped, or otherwise failed gift card.
If you want to unlock chat or region-restricted content
Changing country is not a guaranteed way to unlock text chat, voice features, age-related features, region-restricted experiences, or avatar items. Roblox and individual creators can restrict content by country because of local requirements. Roblox’s regional content documentation explains that restricted experiences may be undiscoverable or unplayable in some countries and that some avatar items may also be unavailable.

Feature access can also depend on age checks, account status, and current Roblox policies. If Roblox is genuinely showing the wrong location, request a Support review and describe the feature problem accurately. Do not claim that a country change will restore a specific feature.
Vietnam: important Roblox-VNG warning
Vietnam is a special case because Roblox has a regional Roblox-VNG app. Roblox’s official Roblox-VNG FAQ says an existing Roblox account can be used with the Roblox-VNG app. However, after the first login to Roblox-VNG, the user can no longer use the global Roblox app. Gameplay data and Robux are migrated to the VNG app, and users can still play with people outside Vietnam.
Do not install and sign in to Roblox-VNG merely to test whether it changes your location. The first login is described as a consequential regional-app transition, not as a reversible location-setting experiment. If you have already logged into VNG, or if you are in Vietnam and have the wrong app, follow the VNG-specific support route in Roblox’s FAQ instead of assuming that the global app will be restored automatically.
Should you use a VPN to change Roblox country?
No—not as a country-change method. A VPN changes the network location Roblox sees; it does not reliably change the account’s official location. Roblox specifically says VPN use may affect the accuracy of location detection.
Using a VPN while troubleshooting can create inconsistent signals and may contribute to payment mismatches, unexpected currency, security checks, or regional-app problems. It is also not a supported way to misrepresent your residence, bypass regional restrictions, or obtain another country’s pricing.
This does not mean that every VPN connection automatically results in a ban. The important point is narrower: Roblox’s public guidance warns about accuracy, and it does not describe a VPN as a legitimate or permanent account-country switch. Do not use a fake address or another country’s payment setup to exploit regional pricing.

What not to trust in older country-change guides
- Universal dropdown instructions: Current Roblox guidance does not document a country dropdown that every account can use.
- The once-every-365-days rule as current policy: This appears in older historical material and should not be treated as a universal current rule.
- API or browser-console fixes: Technical account-country references are not instructions for ordinary users to send authenticated requests.
- Instant VPN changes: Roblox warns that VPNs may reduce location accuracy; a marketing claim of guaranteed synchronization is not official evidence.
- General claims that all foreign gift cards are locked: Roblox’s current gift-card guide says codes can be redeemed worldwide and converted to local currency.
- Promises that Support will definitely change the country: Support can review the case, but Roblox does not publicly guarantee a manual override, proof type, or response time.

Does changing Roblox language change my country?

Does changing my Apple or Google country change my Roblox account country?
