Check the receipt and the billing account used for the purchase: Google-billed charges appear in Google Payments at pay.google.com, while applicable Apple-billed purchases should be checked with Apple. YouTube says Super Chats are voluntary, non-refundable payments, so an ordinary purchase is not eligible for a routine refund. If you are the creator, YouTube Studio shows recent Super Chat activity, but it does not confirm a viewer’s bank refund.
Check your Super Chat as the viewer who paid
- Find the receipt. Search the email account used for the purchase. YouTube emails a receipt after a Super Chat or Super Sticker purchase; for applicable Apple-billed transactions, Apple may send the receipt. Keep the receipt as your purchase record. - Check the billing provider and account. For Google-billed purchases, sign in at pay.google.com and look for the transaction. Confirm that you are using the Google account and payment method used when you paid. New Super Chat and Super Sticker purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play, so check the Google account associated with that purchase.
- Read the status carefully. In YouTube’s general refund troubleshooting guidance, “Refunded” means a credit should appear on the original payment method. “Cancelled” means the order was not charged, so there is no credit to wait for. These general status definitions do not make an ordinary Super Chat refundable. YouTube’s refund troubleshooting guidance covers these statuses.
What YouTube’s refund policy means
YouTube states that “Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and YouTube Giving are voluntary, non-refundable payments.” That means you should not expect a routine refund for a Super Chat you chose to buy. Check your receipt and payment records to verify the transaction and its status; do not treat the general “Refunded” explanation as a promise that YouTube will refund a Super Chat. If you are the creator checking activity
- On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Earn, then open Supers.
- On the Super Chat and Super Sticker activity card, select See all to view available purchase activity.
YouTube describes this creator-side activity view as covering the past 30 days. It can help you find a purchase, but it is not a viewer’s bank or card refund confirmation. The exact interface may vary by account or location. See YouTube’s guidance for viewing Super Chat and Super Sticker activity.
If you did not authorize the charge
An unauthorized-charge report is different from asking for a routine refund on a voluntary payment. If you do not recognize a digital YouTube charge, use YouTube’s unauthorized-charge reporting process. YouTube says to report digital YouTube charges within 120 days of the transaction. Its guidance notes that the statement descriptor begins GOOGLE*YouTube. If the transaction was billed through Apple, check with Apple about that billing route.

Refunded, cancelled, or unauthorized: the difference
