There is no documented raw packet-loss meter in YouTube Live Control Room or JioFiber’s Run Diagnostics. To investigate a YouTube video loop that stutters or drops, record YouTube’s timestamped stream-health errors, check the encoder’s output, test the outbound connection, and run MyJio diagnostics. Those checks can help locate a stream, encoder, Wi-Fi, or connection problem—but they do not by themselves prove packet loss or establish that JioFiber caused it.
What to check first
Start in YouTube Live Control Room, where stream-health errors appear with timestamps and troubleshooting instructions. Red errors are critical; yellow errors indicate moderate issues. Record the message and time before changing settings so you can compare it with what the encoder and network tests show.
YouTube’s guidance is to choose a quality your connection can reliably support, test upload bitrate, test before going live, and monitor stream health during the event. The same general live-stream checks apply to a prerecorded video loop; YouTube’s published guidance does not specify a separate diagnostic procedure for loops.
Check the encoder settings against YouTube’s guidance
Confirm that the encoder is using RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, constant bitrate (CBR), and a keyframe interval of two seconds. YouTube says not to exceed four seconds and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Its current H.264 recommended video bitrates are:

These are YouTube encoder-setting recommendations, not upload-speed guarantees for JioFiber. Compare your configured bitrate with an upload test, and choose a lower resolution if your connection cannot reliably support the selected quality. YouTube recommends running a speed test to test your upload bitrate. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Separate encoder trouble from a connection problem
- Check what the encoder sees. Look at its stream status and preview, and listen to the audio. Note whether the local output itself freezes, breaks up, or loses sound.
- Check local performance. If quality is poor in the encoder preview or local archive, inspect CPU load and encoder settings. YouTube also recommends updating the encoder or trying another encoder when appropriate.
- Compare with YouTube health. Match the timestamps in Live Control Room to encoder warnings and any local-output problems. YouTube’s troubleshooting distinguishes encoder and connection symptoms from a viewer’s playback issue.
- Test the outbound connection. If the encoder’s output looks and sounds healthy, follow YouTube’s troubleshooting sequence and test the internet connection. Contact the ISP if that test identifies a connection problem. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide explains these distinctions.
A report from one viewer points more toward that viewer’s device or internet connection, according to YouTube. Reports from many viewers on different connections make an encoder issue more likely. Neither pattern is a direct packet-loss measurement.

Run JioFiber diagnostics and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet
- In the MyJio app, link the JioFiber account if it is not already linked.
- Open Home, select JioCare, and choose Run Diagnostics.
- Review the results and any on-screen troubleshooting steps. Jio says the tool checks network health, router status, Wi-Fi strength, and device connectivity. It may flag weak Wi-Fi, an offline router, loose cables, speed drops, or configuration errors.
- If practical, repeat the same stream test with the streaming computer connected to the router by Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi. Keep the encoder settings the same and note whether the symptoms change.
The wired-versus-Wi-Fi comparison is a way to investigate the home wireless segment, not proof about where any upstream loss occurs. Jio’s Run Diagnostics FAQ describes the checks and available on-screen support steps.
Interpret the evidence without overcalling packet loss
- YouTube stream-health warning: evidence that YouTube detected a stream-health issue, not a raw packet-loss count.
- Encoder warning or poor local output: evidence to investigate the encoder, computer load, or local media path.
- MyJio warning: evidence of a network, router, Wi-Fi, device, speed-drop, or configuration concern described by Jio; the reviewed guidance does not specify a customer-facing packet-loss measurement.
- Playback trouble reported by viewers: consider whether reports come from one viewer or multiple viewers on separate connections before attributing the issue to the broadcaster’s uplink.
A dropped frame or stream-health warning should not automatically be labeled packet loss. The documented tools help narrow down where to investigate, but do not establish that JioFiber is at fault. YouTube’s troubleshooting guide separates encoder, outbound connection, and viewer-side possibilities; its encoder guidance covers stream settings and upload testing.

Keep a useful record before contacting support
If the problem persists and the encoder output looks healthy, collect the YouTube error messages and timestamps, encoder status and local-output observations, outbound test results, MyJio diagnostic outcome, and whether Ethernet changed the symptoms. YouTube advises contacting the ISP when a connection test finds a problem; for JioFiber findings, use the steps and support options shown in MyJio Run Diagnostics.
