Choose for the event first: a car’s Performance Rating reflects its base model and installed parts, but handling suitability matters just as much. EA’s PC manual puts the rating scale at 100 to 400+ and advises checking a car’s Handling Profile before an event. The 22-car guide below is therefore a role-based selection framework—not a verified ranking of particular models.
How to pick a car in Need for Speed Heat
Start with the event’s demands, then check the car’s handling profile and build. The game categorizes handling as Race, Road, Offroad, or Drift; tires, suspension, and differential can modify that profile. A higher Performance Rating is not proof that a car is the right choice for every event.

EA describes Performance Rating as determined by the base model and its parts, with ratings from 100 to 400+. Increasing the rating opens new races and helps you compete against tougher opponents. Treat it as a progression and capability indicator, not a universal measure of event suitability. See the EA Need for Speed Heat PC manual for the game’s descriptions of ratings and handling.
22 car slots, organized by the job you need done
The available official information establishes the game’s handling categories and tuning principles, but does not provide a sourced list of 22 named cars ranked or tested against one another. Rather than invent model rankings, use these 22 selection slots to build an event-specific garage from the cars available to you. For each candidate, inspect its in-game handling profile, Performance Rating, and installed parts before committing.

- PS4 NEED FOR SPEED HEAT (US)
Race and road: 1–8
- Race pick 1: Choose a car whose displayed profile is Race for your primary race build.
- Race pick 2: Compare another Race-profile car at a similar rating; do not assume the rating alone settles the choice.
- Race pick 3: Keep a separate candidate for events where your current Race build feels difficult to control.
- Race pick 4: Check how the installed tires, suspension, and differential affect the handling profile.
- Road pick 5: Select a car showing a Road profile for road-focused events.
- Road pick 6: Compare its rating and parts with your other road candidate rather than relying on model reputation.
- Road pick 7: Keep a second road option if you prefer a different balance of control and speed.
- Road pick 8: Recheck the profile after changing handling parts; modifications can alter it.
Off-road: 9–14
- Off-road pick 9: Begin with a car whose handling profile is Offroad.
- Off-road pick 10: Compare another Offroad candidate in the same event rather than carrying over a road-event verdict.
- Off-road pick 11: Check whether your installed tires, suspension, and differential suit the profile you want.
- Off-road pick 12: Keep an alternative if the first build’s handling does not suit your control preferences.
- Off-road pick 13: Judge the build in the relevant event; a high rating by itself does not establish off-road suitability.
- Off-road pick 14: Review the profile again after parts changes before using the car in another event type.
Drift: 15–18
- Drift pick 15: Look for a Drift handling profile when selecting a dedicated drift-event car.
- Drift pick 16: Compare another Drift-profile candidate instead of assuming a race build will behave the same way.
- Drift pick 17: Use suspension, tires, and differential adjustments to modify the handling profile as needed.
- Drift pick 18: Recheck the profile after tuning; the car’s category and behavior are not fixed independently of parts.
Flexible garage options: 19–22
- Flexible pick 19: Choose a base model you are willing to configure for a secondary event type, then inspect the resulting profile.
- Flexible pick 20: Keep a separate build for a different event instead of expecting one setup to suit every discipline.
- Flexible pick 21: Compare its rating and installed parts with cars already assigned to that event.
- Flexible pick 22: Reserve a final slot for whichever event category your garage currently lacks.
Build a garage for events, not just one headline car
EA advises checking the Handling Profile before starting because cars are better suited to different events, and its manual suggests maintaining several event-specific builds. That is the practical answer to “What are the best cars in Need for Speed Heat?”: the best choice depends on the event, the parts fitted, and the handling you can control. The official guidance does not establish a top-22 list or a fastest model for each category.
Use day and night progression to support your car choices
Day events award Bank, which you use for cars, parts, and customization. Night introduces a separate REP and HEAT risk-and-reward loop: taking a night’s REP back to a garage banks it, while getting busted resets the HEAT multiplier and costs Bank. Build progression around that distinction—use day rewards to fund your garage and weigh the risk of extending a night run against securing REP at a garage.
