For the travel case itself, follow the maker’s care label: Nintendo’s instructions do not specify one cleaning method for every fabric or coating. Once everything is dry, pack only what you need and keep loose accessories in a dedicated pocket or pouch.
How to clean the console and accessories safely
- Power off the console and unplug accessories. Nintendo says to verify both before cleaning or disinfecting.
- Dampen a soft, clean cloth with water and wring it out. Gently wipe the product; do not pour liquid directly onto it or submerge it.
- Let everything dry completely before use. For handheld-screen smudges, Nintendo also identifies a soft lens or eyeglass cleaning cloth as suitable.
If disinfection is needed, Nintendo’s Switch 2 guidance says to lightly apply consumer-grade disinfectant containing about 70% alcohol to a soft cloth, then gently wipe. How to clean the travel case
Check the case’s care label or instructions before cleaning it. Materials and coatings vary, and Nintendo’s guidance for its products does not establish a universal washing method for travel-case fabric. Avoid soaking the case or using aggressive cleaners near electronics. If the console or accessories are still inside, remove them before cleaning the case and allow it to dry fully before repacking.
How to keep accessories organized while traveling
- Choose the loadout first. Lay out the console and only the items the trip requires, such as a charger or selected games.
- Assign small items a place. Use a case compartment or a small pouch for cables and loose accessories so they do not drift around.
- Protect the screen from pressure. Do not overfill the case or leave loose objects pressed against the console or screen.
- Check the actual fit. Before choosing a case for a particular accessory load, verify its dimensions and interior layout against the items you intend to carry.
This is practical packing advice, not a Nintendo-prescribed layout. Nintendo’s Switch 2 carrying-case page and All-in-One Carrying Case page establish those product categories, but the available product information does not establish a precise compartment layout for every case.

What to check when choosing a travel case
Nintendo notes that an extra protective carrying case can often help prevent impact damage. That supports considering a suitable case, but does not guarantee that every third-party listing fits Switch 2 or the accessories you plan to pack. Check the specific product’s stated compatibility and compare:
- Console fit and interior protection, including screen clearance
- Closure and the space available for your charger and other accessories
- Game-card storage, if you plan to carry cards
- Dimensions and bulk, and whether your intended controllers and accessories fit
A soft microfiber or lens-cleaning cloth is also a useful cleaning item; Nintendo recommends a soft, clean cloth, and a suitable cloth you already own may be enough.
