For ordinary display dust, leave the LEGO PlayStation assembled and use a clean, very soft brush with light strokes. If it needs more than dusting, take the build apart and clean the bricks by hand: LEGO says to use water no hotter than 104°F (40°C), a soft cloth or sponge, and mild detergent only if needed, then rinse and air-dry away from direct sunlight.
What to use for routine dusting
A clean, soft-bristled brush is a practical option for lifting loose dust from the assembled set. Brush gently over broad surfaces first, then work into recesses and around small details. Use your other hand to support projecting or delicate sections, and avoid pressure that could shift pieces.
The brush suggestion comes from Brick Rated’s display-care guidance; it is not a LEGO requirement or a tested procedure specific to this set. The LEGO PlayStation is a detailed display model: PlayStation describes it as a near 1:1-scale original console made from 1,911 pieces, with the console measuring 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide when assembled. PlayStation’s announcement gives those specifications.
When dusting is not enough
For grime that will not come away dry, disassemble the model before cleaning it with water. LEGO’s general guidance is for cleaning pieces by hand; it does not specifically instruct owners to soak or spray a completed display build. Disassembly is therefore the cautious way to apply those instructions to this set.

Hand-clean the loose pieces
- Wash the pieces by hand in water no hotter than 104°F (40°C), using a soft cloth or sponge. LEGO allows mild detergent if needed.
- Rinse the pieces thoroughly with clear water.
- Let them dry without direct sunlight before rebuilding.

What to avoid
- Do not put LEGO pieces in a washing machine or dishwasher.
- Do not dry them in an oven, microwave, or with a hair dryer. LEGO warns that heat can change brick shape.
- Do not spray cleaner or water onto the assembled display model. If a surface needs wiping, LEGO’s guidance supports a soft cloth or sponge for hand-cleaning pieces; applying that to an assembled build, a lightly moistened cloth is the conservative choice.
- Do not use hard pressure while brushing around small parts, and avoid direct sunlight while cleaned pieces dry.
