There is no universal graphics preset or controller setup that applies to every PS5 emulator. Configure the exact emulator build you use, check its own help and input controls, and change one setting at a time. For KytyPS5, the project documents a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU and current drivers as requirements, but does not publish a universal list of recommended graphics values or controller mappings.
Start with the emulator and build you actually use
PS5 emulation is experimental, and settings differ among projects and versions. KytyPS5 describes itself as an emulator for Windows and Linux, with experimental macOS support. Its README says Windows and Linux builds receive the most testing and that the project can boot 2D games and a selection of 3D games. It also cautions that “Compatibility, stability, and performance can vary between versions.” KytyPS5 project repository
RPCSX is a separate experimental PS4/PS5 emulator project for Linux; its controls and requirements should not be assumed to match KytyPS5. RPCSX project repository
Before following a settings guide, confirm the emulator’s name, operating system, and version. Advice about a graphics API, controller feature, or menu option is useful only if that exact build supports it.

Check graphics requirements before changing settings
KytyPS5 specifies a GPU capable of Vulkan 1.3 and current graphics drivers. Its project documentation says macOS support uses Vulkan through MoltenVK and runs as x86-64 under Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon; the project labels macOS support experimental. Follow the repository’s requirements for the build and operating system you intend to use rather than treating this as a general requirement for every PS5 emulator. KytyPS5 project repository
- Confirm the installed build supports your operating system and check that your GPU and driver meet its documented graphics requirements.
- Update your graphics driver before troubleshooting rendering problems. KytyPS5’s documentation recommends doing so. KytyPS5 project repository
- Open the settings or help supplied with that specific build. KytyPS5 says its
kyty_emulator --helpcommand lists available graphics, logging, validation, profiling, and debugging options. The available options can depend on the build. - Change one graphics setting at a time, then check the affected game. This makes it easier to identify which change helped or caused a problem; results can vary with the game and emulator version.
- Keep a note of the emulator version and the setting you changed. KytyPS5 asks users reporting issues to include the version they tested.
What graphics settings should you use?
Use only settings that appear in the documentation or controls for your own build. The KytyPS5 README establishes Vulkan support requirements and points to runtime help, but it does not publish a general set of user-facing recommendations for renderer choices, resolution scaling, frame caps, anti-aliasing, or ray tracing. A specific value cannot be called “best” without support for that emulator version and game.

Be cautious with third-party pages that name graphics options or promise a preset. RPCS5.com publishes graphics and controller guides, but the reviewed project sources do not verify those pages’ instructions for KytyPS5 or RPCSX. Its listed download SHA-256, e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855, is the standard digest for empty input; that fact alone does not establish what a download contains, but it is a reason not to rely on the site’s binary or claims without independent verification. Set up and troubleshoot a controller
For a controller that is not detected, first check whether the operating system recognizes it. Then open the input or controller panel in your installed emulator build, if one is provided, and inspect the available bindings. Menu labels and mapping steps are not established in KytyPS5’s public documentation, so treat these as general checks rather than documented KytyPS5 instructions.

- Connect the controller and verify that it appears to the operating system.
- Open the emulator’s own input or controller controls and check which devices and bindings the build exposes.
- If the build offers an input test or lets you edit bindings, test each button and stick in a menu or test screen before starting a game.
- If input still fails, note the operating system, connection type, emulator version, and whether the controller works elsewhere. Check the build’s documentation or issue tracker for that combination.
KytyPS5’s Linux build instructions mention SDL3 dependencies and warn that missing audio, Wayland, and udev development packages can leave SDL3 configured without working gamepad hotplug. This is a build-specific note, not a compatibility guarantee for every controller model or a consumer setup walkthrough. KytyPS5 project repository
The reviewed public documentation does not establish a KytyPS5 controller compatibility list, recommended dead zones, or official mapping instructions. Do not assume that support for a controller’s basic buttons also means that features such as haptics or gyro input are implemented.
