You do not need to give IRL Pro your Google password to send a stream to YouTube. The documented IRL Pro setup uses a streaming destination’s complete RTMP or SRT publish URL. That configures where the video goes; it is different from authorizing a service to access your YouTube account.
The reviewed IRL Pro guide does not document a built-in Google OAuth connection. A separate service, Enhanced IRL, documents a YouTube authorization flow that redirects you to Google for approval. Do not treat that separate feature as an IRL Pro app capability.
What connecting IRL Pro to YouTube means
There are two distinct connections that can be involved:
- Account authorization: A service asks YouTube for permission through Google’s OAuth consent screen. You approve access on Google’s page rather than handing the service your Google password. Google explains that OAuth allows an application to access specific data while keeping usernames and passwords private: YouTube Live Streaming API OAuth documentation.
- Stream destination: An encoder such as IRL Pro sends video to a publish URL and uses the required stream key or stream ID. This tells the encoder where to send video; it does not itself authorize a Google account connection.
IRL Pro’s documented setup covers RTMP and SRT destination configuration. It does not show an OAuth-based YouTube account-linking step inside the app. IRL Pro is an Android streaming app that can send streams to YouTube and other destinations, according to its Google Play listing.

Connect IRL Pro using a streaming destination URL
Use the URL and protocol supplied by the service that will deliver your stream to YouTube. Enhanced IRL’s IRL Pro instructions describe this RTMP/SRT setup; exact dashboard labels may differ in other services.
- Prepare your YouTube live stream. Make sure your channel is eligible to use YouTube Live and create a stream in YouTube or in the service that manages your broadcast, as applicable. Google’s Live API documentation says the channel must be approved or enabled for Live use: YouTube Live Streaming API authorization guidance.
- Get the complete publish URL. In the destination service’s dashboard, configure the stream URL and key as it instructs. In Enhanced IRL’s documented setup, choose RTMP or SRT and copy the complete publish URL. For RTMP, the key is included at the end of the URL; for SRT, it is carried in the stream ID. - Enter it in IRL Pro. Select the same protocol—RTMP or SRT—in IRL Pro, then paste the complete URL into the app’s URL/server field. Do not select one protocol and paste a URL for the other.
- Start the broadcast and verify YouTube receives it. Check the destination service and YouTube’s live control room for an incoming stream before relying on the broadcast.
If the service offers YouTube account linking
Account linking is a separate step handled by that service, not by pasting your Google password into IRL Pro. Enhanced IRL documents this example flow:

- In Enhanced IRL, open Account → Platform connections → Connect with YouTube.
- When redirected to YouTube, sign in there if prompted and approve the requested access.
- Return to the Enhanced IRL dashboard. If you have not created a YouTube stream yet, create one, then sync the connection so the service can retrieve the broadcast key.
- Configure the destination URL/key and enter the complete publish URL in IRL Pro using the matching RTMP or SRT protocol.
These steps describe Enhanced IRL’s documented OAuth connection, not a native IRL Pro feature. The service’s guide is at Connect your Twitch, YouTube or Kick account.
Keep both credentials private
- Google password: Do not enter it into an unrelated app or service form. A legitimate OAuth flow sends you to Google to review and approve access.
- Broadcast key or publish URL: This is not your Google password, but it is still sensitive. Enhanced IRL warns that someone with a broadcast link or key may be able to broadcast as the channel owner: Links that give access without signing in. Store it privately and reset or replace it through the relevant service if it is exposed.
Google’s YouTube Live API documentation also says service accounts are not supported for linking a YouTube account; authorization uses a user-granted flow. See Google’s YouTube Live API authorization guidance.

Troubleshooting
- IRL Pro asks for a URL, not a Google login: That matches the documented RTMP/SRT destination setup. Obtain the complete publish URL from the service that will send your stream to YouTube.
- YouTube does not receive video: Confirm the protocol selected in IRL Pro matches the URL (RTMP or SRT), and that you pasted the complete URL, including its key or stream ID.
- The service cannot retrieve a broadcast key: For Enhanced IRL’s documented flow, create a YouTube stream if one does not exist, then sync the connection again.
- You cannot start a live broadcast: Check that YouTube Live is enabled for the channel and that any required approval or eligibility conditions are met.
- You entered a password into a service form: Stop and do not reuse that password there. If you believe it was exposed, change it through Google and review your account’s security and third-party access.
- Your stream key or publish URL was exposed: Treat it as a compromised credential and replace it through the service or YouTube workflow that issued it.
