Saving or sharing the original only gives you access to that same playlist; it does not create a copy. If you mean moving an entire channel, that is a separate Brand Account transfer with different requirements and risks.

Copy a playlist by recreating it under the new channel
1. Sign in to the destination channel and create a playlist
- Switch to or sign in to the YouTube channel that should own the new playlist.
- Create a playlist there. Choose its title and visibility to suit your needs.
- Keep the source playlist open in another tab so you can identify its videos.
YouTube’s standard-interface help documents saving and sharing playlists, but does not establish a one-click action that clones a playlist into another channel. The documented technical route is to create a destination playlist, retrieve the source items, and add those items to the new list.
2. Add the source playlist’s videos
For a small playlist, add its videos to the destination playlist using YouTube’s interface. Open each source video, use the save-to-playlist control, and select the destination playlist. Confirm that you are operating as the destination channel before adding items.
For a scripted approach, YouTube’s Data API provides the operations needed: playlistItems.list retrieves playlist items, playlists.insert creates a playlist, and playlistItems.insert adds a video to a playlist. - Authorize the application as an account with access to the source playlist and the destination channel.
- Retrieve the source playlist’s items with
playlistItems.list, following any pagination in the API response so you do not stop before the full list is retrieved. - Create the destination playlist under the destination channel and retain its playlist ID.
- For each accessible source video, call
playlistItems.insertwith the destination playlist ID and that video’s resource ID. - Review the created playlist for missing items and order differences.
The API documents inaccessible playlist items and a playlist that has reached its maximum number of items as possible insertion failures. A private video also remains subject to its owner’s access controls; the destination account must have permission to view it.
3. Verify contents and ordering
Compare the destination playlist against the source, checking for missing, unavailable, or private videos as well as the sequence. The API exposes each item’s position, but setting a specific position requires the playlist to use Manual ordering in its settings. Do not assume that a recreated list automatically preserves every attribute of the original.

If you only need access to the original
To find the source playlist later, save it to your Library. To give someone access to the existing list, share its playlist URL. Neither action creates a playlist owned by your other channel. Viewers also need an invitation to watch private videos; a private video will not play for people who have not been granted access.
Do not transfer a whole channel just to copy one playlist
YouTube supports channel and video moves between eligible Brand Accounts associated with the same Google Account. A transfer may require primary-owner status and opting out of channel permissions. The replacement step is consequential: replacing a channel at the destination deletes that destination channel and its associated content, including playlists. Inspect both accounts and the destination channel’s contents before proceeding. See YouTube’s Brand Account transfer instructions.

If another person only needs to help manage the existing channel, channel permissions provide role-based access. They do not transfer ownership to that person. See YouTube channel permissions.
