Before going live, clear the rights for every recording and plan for YouTube’s archive and DVR limits: streams over 12 hours may not be archived, and rewind may be limited or unavailable.
Before you set up OBS
Check YouTube livestream eligibility
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube supports broadcasting with an encoder such as OBS. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear the music rights first
Confirm that you have the necessary rights for each recording and its composition, for the territories where you intend to stream, and for both live transmission and any archive. Music rights can involve artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. A song being old, purchased, or available through a consumer music service does not by itself establish that you can rebroadcast it.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can trigger a warning, a placeholder, an interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the stream to avoid interruption. Ask the rights holder or licensing provider about the exact Bhojpuri catalog, territories, live use, archive rights, and allowlisting. Configure OBS and YouTube Live
- Install OBS and run its Auto-Configuration Wizard. Use it as a starting point for settings suited to your computer and network. OBS compatibility requirements do not guarantee that a system can stream reliably: encoder choice, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity all affect performance. OBS explains this in its system requirements.
- Choose a manageable output setup. Set the encoder, resolution, and frame rate based on your hardware, internet connection, and source video. There is no universal bitrate or resolution that this guide can promise will work for every machine and connection. Avoid adding unnecessary animated overlays or complex scenes if they strain the encoder.
- Create or select a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the stream’s encoder setup and copy the stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream details. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share or publish it, and reset it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Build the OBS scene. Add the video source or playlist playback method you plan to use, plus any visual elements. Check that the audio reaches OBS at a clean level and that the scene looks right throughout the playback cycle. For a music-only broadcast, make sure transitions between tracks do not leave unintended silence or expose desktop notifications.
- Test privately before the public launch. Confirm the full playback chain, audio levels, transitions, and what you will do after an OBS restart or interruption. A scheduled YouTube stream may show a preview in Live Control Room; verify it there and select Go live when that workflow requires it. Plan for continuous operation
OBS runs on your computer, so a 24/7 broadcast depends on that computer staying on and OBS continuing to encode and upload. Plan for restarts, software crashes, power loss, and internet interruptions, and arrange human monitoring so you can respond. A UPS for the computer and router can help bridge some power interruptions, but it will not prevent internet, software, or YouTube failures.
Use a stable connection and test the stream under the conditions in which it will operate. The OBS machine needs enough capacity for the chosen encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene; meeting OBS’s listed compatibility requirements alone is not a performance guarantee.

Choose one long stream or shorter sessions
A single continuous stream is simpler to schedule, but it can be harder to monitor and restart, and its replay may be incomplete. YouTube says streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured in the archive at all. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable on streams beyond 12 hours. YouTube recommends keeping a local recording backup; see Archive live streams and Turn on DVR on live streams.

For either format, keep a local recording if a complete replay matters, and confirm storage capacity and recording behavior before relying on it.

Troubleshooting a 24/7 OBS stream
- You cannot start a YouTube broadcast: confirm channel verification and check that the channel has no live-stream restriction from the previous 90 days.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: recheck the stream URL and key in OBS > Settings > Stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in YouTube and update OBS.
- The stream is unstable or OBS struggles: reduce the load by simplifying scenes or choosing a lower resolution or frame rate, then reassess the encoder and connection. Performance depends on the machine, settings, and network.
- YouTube warns about or interrupts the music: stop and resolve the rights issue rather than trying to evade the match. Confirm the exact use and territories with the rights holder, including whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use a local recording backup and consider shorter sessions if complete replays matter.
- The stream stops after a power or internet interruption: restore power or connectivity, check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room, then relaunch the feed. A UPS can address some power loss but cannot cover a network or platform outage.
