To create a 24/7 Indian lofi study stream, prepare music and visuals you have permission to broadcast, verify your YouTube channel, build a looping scene in OBS, create the live stream in YouTube Studio, and test it unlisted before going public. Keeping it live around the clock is an operating goal, not a YouTube uptime guarantee: a local setup depends on a continuously running computer and a stable connection, and copyrighted music can interrupt even a licensed broadcast unless Content ID handling is resolved.
What you need before going live
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says live streamers must be at least 16. YouTube for Artists advises first-time streamers to verify at least 24 hours before their first broadcast. YouTube live-streaming eligibility and YouTube for Artists resources.
- Music, artwork, and animation cleared for the uses you intend, including a continuous live broadcast and, if enabled, the archived video.
- A computer that can run your chosen encoder and scene, plus an internet connection stable enough for the selected stream settings. YouTube and OBS do not establish a universal hardware minimum or bandwidth target for this project.
- An encoder such as OBS. It is free and open-source; its Auto-Configuration Wizard can help set basic streaming options. OBS Studio.
Clear music and visuals before building the stream
Do not treat “royalty-free,” “no copyright,” a credit line, or the fact that a track is available on a streaming platform as proof that you may broadcast it continuously on YouTube. Confirm permission for the specific recording and composition, the intended territories, looping, monetization if planned, and the archived video. Keep written licenses or permissions where you can find them.
YouTube warns: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams. If YouTube detects third-party content, it may replace the live image with a placeholder and warn you; if the material continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption: if a label or distributor controls Content ID, ask it to allowlist your channel before launch. The archived live video may also receive a Content ID claim after the stream ends.
Use original or specifically licensed visuals as well as cleared music. This is practical rights-management guidance, not legal advice about Indian copyright; the rights involved depend on the particular works, recordings, owners, territories, and license terms.

Choose a presentation: horizontal or vertical
A widescreen ambient scene is a natural fit for a study stream. YouTube also supports vertical live formats, which can appear in the Shorts feed. The documented feature differences can help you choose, but they do not guarantee reach or performance.

These format features are described in YouTube Help on horizontal and vertical live streaming. Choose a layout that suits the scene and where you expect viewers to watch; there is no evidence here that one format will perform better for Indian lofi.

Set up the stream in YouTube Studio and OBS
- Verify eligibility. Confirm the channel is verified and has no current live-stream restriction. If this is your first broadcast, follow YouTube for Artists’ advice to enable and verify live streaming at least 24 hours ahead.
- Install OBS from its official site. Open the Auto-Configuration Wizard and use its results as a starting point. OBS and YouTube’s guidance do not specify a required processor, memory, graphics card, or connection speed for this particular scene, so assess your existing computer rather than assuming a hardware minimum.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and use the encoder workflow. YouTube identifies encoders as suitable for productions that need overlays or production hardware. Follow Studio’s current prompts to connect OBS; keep the stream key private.
- Build the scene. Add the cleared artwork or animation and the audio source for your cleared playlist or recording. Check that the scene composition matches the chosen horizontal or vertical format and that the audio is audible without clipping or unintended silence.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Confirm that the incoming image and sound are correct in YouTube Studio’s live preview before making the broadcast public. YouTube’s encoder guidance is at Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Test unlisted first. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test before a public launch. Check the stream destination, audio continuity, visual loop, and stream status. This is a practical preflight, not a guarantee against later disconnections or rights claims.
- Launch and monitor. Watch both OBS’s connection status and YouTube’s Live Control Room. Keep a plan for restarting the encoder and restoring the broadcast if the computer, connection, or stream fails.
Keep a 24/7 broadcast operational
A local OBS broadcast requires the computer and network connection to remain available. OBS explains that dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or one that cannot sustain the selected bitrate. If dropped frames recur, inspect connection stability and the bitrate selected by the wizard before assuming the issue is a YouTube outage. Test the actual scene and audio rather than relying on a configuration alone.
- Monitor OBS connection status and YouTube’s live dashboard for interruptions or warnings.
- Keep the source media and scene simple enough for your computer to run consistently, and check the loop for gaps or abrupt transitions.
- Decide who can restart the encoder or connection if you are not present. A local setup is not unattended if no one can respond to failures.
- Do not promise uninterrupted service: the available platform and encoder guidance does not establish nonstop reliability for a particular computer, network, or channel.
For platform context, YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That platform-wide figure does not predict the audience for an Indian lofi channel, a study stream, or any individual broadcast. YouTube for Artists.
