For a DIY setup, a computer and streaming software must stay connected and monitored. For a cloud option, StreamNeo loops uploaded videos without keeping a home computer on. In either case, a 24/7 schedule does not remove the need for music permission or monitoring.
Before you build the stream
Check channel eligibility and music rights first. These are separate requirements: YouTube must allow your channel to go live, and you must have permission for the specific music and use.
Enable YouTube Live in advance
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming before your planned launch and check YouTube Studio for restrictions. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear every track for the actual use
Confirm rights for both the sound recording and the underlying composition. Your permission should expressly cover live streaming, the territories where you intend to reach viewers, the duration of use, and whether YouTube may keep an archived replay. A license for a recording or an ordinary uploaded video does not automatically establish permission for a live broadcast.

YouTube’s Livestream Terms and Conditions put the responsibility on the provider to have all necessary rights, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms do not determine which licenses apply to a particular bhajan, recording, or country; identify the relevant rightsholders and confirm the permissions for your specific use.
Choose how to keep the program running
A prepared, continuous audio-and-video feed is best handled through an encoder. YouTube supports both software and standalone hardware encoders; a dedicated hardware unit is optional, not a YouTube requirement. Choose based on how you will sustain the feed, restart it after a failure, loop or schedule content, monitor audio, and manage supported codecs and resolutions. No particular encoder model is required by the guidance cited here.
DIY: computer and streaming software
This route gives you direct control, but the computer, encoder, and internet connection have to remain available for the stream to continue. Plan how someone will notice and respond to a network drop, software crash, silent audio, or copyright alert.

Cloud: StreamNeo

Prepare the bhajan program and permissions
- Make a track-by-track rights list. Record the title, performer, recording owner, composition rights holder, applicable territory, permission term, and whether replay archiving is allowed. Do not assume traditional lyrics mean a particular modern recording is free to use.
- Obtain permissions that explicitly cover live use. Ask rightsholders or your licensing provider to confirm that the rights cover your planned YouTube live stream, distribution territories, and any archived version. Keep written evidence and contact details available.
- Ask about Content ID allowlisting. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Even with a license, a track can trigger a match unless the rightsholder adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the owner to do this where needed; allowlisting helps prevent a mistaken or expected match from interrupting the stream, but it is not a substitute for a license.
- Build and review the playlist. Use only cleared recordings, check the sequence and transitions, and ensure that any visual loop or title card is also suitable for your intended use. Keep a copy of the playlist and permissions so you can identify a track quickly if an alert occurs.
Creator Music does not provide clearance for this live use: YouTube says its licensing and revenue-sharing options do not cover live streams. See its Creator Music overview and Creator Music FAQ. Use permissions expressly covering live content instead.
Set up a DIY YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and create a live event. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live, then configure the event in Live Control Room. The available controls can vary as YouTube updates Studio.
- Copy the encoder connection details. In the event’s stream settings, copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your event. Use RTMPS when your encoder and connection support it; YouTube recommends RTMPS.
- Choose sustainable video settings. YouTube recommends H.264 video with constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. Select a resolution and bitrate that your sustained upload connection can handle reliably. The appropriate bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate, and codec, so use YouTube’s current encoder settings and bitrate guidance rather than applying one number to every setup.
- Set the keyframe interval. Use a two-second keyframe interval, YouTube’s recommended setting.
- Configure audio. YouTube’s encoder guidance supports AAC or MP3 audio. Listen to the encoder output and the Studio preview to catch clipping, silence, channel imbalance, or a mismatch between audio and visuals before relying on a long broadcast.
- Start a private test and check stream health. Start the encoder, confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed, and review its stream-health indicators. Watch and listen to the preview; then test playback on the public watch page and a mobile device before the scheduled launch.
- Start the event and monitor it. Confirm that the public stream plays correctly. For an extended broadcast, arrange human checks of audio, encoder status, network connection, and rights alerts. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring but does not specify a creator uptime guarantee.
Keep a 24/7 stream manageable
Continuous operation is a staffing and recovery plan as much as an encoder setting. Decide who will check the stream, how they will be alerted to a failure, and how they will restart the encoder or address a rights match. Test the complete loop before launch, including transitions, the last-to-first track change, audio levels, and the way the event behaves after a connection interruption.

- Keep a cleared backup playlist or replacement visual ready in case a track is challenged.
- Restrict access to the stream key and rotate it if it is exposed.
- Check Studio’s preview and stream-health information before and during the broadcast.
- Do not promise uninterrupted availability unless your monitoring, connection, and recovery arrangements can support that claim.

Live Control Room does not receive the encoder feed
Check that the event is configured for encoder streaming, then compare the server URL and stream key in Studio with the values entered in the encoder. Confirm the encoder is running and your connection can sustain the selected settings. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
The stream is unstable or stream health is poor
Reduce resolution or bitrate to a level the upload connection can sustain, and recheck using YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Confirm CBR video and a two-second keyframe interval, then test again before returning to the long broadcast.
YouTube displays a copyright warning or placeholder
The stream may have matched third-party material. Follow the alert in Live Control Room, remove or replace the flagged content if appropriate, and contact the rightsholder. If you hold a live-stream license, ask the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license does not guarantee that automated matching will not occur.

The stream is live but has no sound or poor audio
Check the encoder’s selected audio input and AAC or MP3 output, then listen to the Studio preview and a viewer-side playback. Verify levels and the playlist source; a moving video preview does not prove that audio is reaching viewers.
Questions creators should settle before launch
Can I stream bhajans continuously if I have a license?
Only if the permission covers the specific recording and composition, live streaming, relevant territories, and any archive you plan to retain. Also ask whether the channel needs Content ID allowlisting to avoid a match interrupting the broadcast.
Does a hardware encoder guarantee a 24/7 stream?
No. Hardware is one supported encoder option, not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. A continuous stream still depends on the connection, system health, monitoring, and a recovery plan.
