You can run a 24/7 fireplace channel on YouTube by sending a prepared fireplace video and audio feed through a live-stream encoder. First make sure your channel is eligible, clear the rights to every image and sound, test the broadcast, then schedule and monitor it. A loop can be broadcast, but copyright clearance, keeping an archive, and qualifying for monetization are separate issues—and none is guaranteed simply because the stream stays live.
1. Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Its current Help guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming. Check eligibility before producing or scheduling the broadcast. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
For a prepared fireplace scene with production elements or overlays, YouTube describes encoder streaming as a common fit. The platform supports multiple broadcast methods, but its guidance does not require a particular encoder, dedicated computer, or minimum computer specification. Choose a setup that can reliably send your prepared video and audio feed; test it rather than assuming any specific hardware will be sufficient.
2. Clear the fireplace footage and sound
The simplest rights position is to use footage and audio you recorded yourself or commissioned with written terms that cover your intended use. Keep the records. Rights to the visuals do not automatically establish rights to music, ambient sound, or other audio in the recording.

If you use third-party material, confirm that the license covers livestreaming, the territories where the stream may be available, the intended duration, both video and audio, and archiving if you plan to keep a replay. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content; it may temporarily interrupt or terminate a stream when such material remains. YouTube advises creators with licensed content to ask the rights owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.
3. Prepare and test the encoder feed
- Assemble the scene. Prepare the fireplace video and the audio you are entitled to use. If you add overlays, keep them legible and make sure they do not obscure important information or imply the recording is happening live.
- Set up an encoder workflow. In YouTube Studio, start the live-stream setup and select the encoder workflow, then configure your encoder to send the prepared feed using the stream details YouTube provides. Exact controls vary by encoder, so follow that application’s current instructions rather than assuming one universal menu path.
- Run a test before launch. Check that video and audio reach the YouTube preview, the picture and sound remain usable, and the stream is identified as intended. A short test or private test broadcast can reveal setup problems before a long public run. This is practical setup advice, not a platform-guaranteed hardware specification.
- Schedule and label the broadcast. Give the stream a clear title and description. Explain that viewers are watching a looped recording when that is what you are broadcasting; do not present recorded fireplace footage as a live camera view. YouTube’s cited guidance does not prescribe a disclosure template.
4. Plan for continuity and the replay
A continuous stream and its archive are different things. YouTube’s monetization guidance says live streams that are not archived do not count toward qualified watch hours. If watch-hour eligibility matters to you, check the current archive settings and stream-duration behavior in YouTube Studio before relying on a long broadcast. The available guidance does not establish a maximum duration or guarantee how a single very long stream will be archived. YouTube Help: YouTube Partner Program overview and eligibility.

Plan how you will notice an interruption and restart or restore the broadcast. Do not assume that one successful test guarantees uninterrupted operation over an extended run. If you use licensed third-party content, resolve Content ID allowlisting before going live rather than treating a later claim as a routine technical problem.
5. Treat monetization as a separate review
Broadcast permission, copyright status, archive availability, and monetization review are separate questions. YouTube applies channel monetization policies to live content. In its July 15, 2025 clarification, YouTube described repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content” and said reviewers assess the channel as a whole. A repeated fireplace loop is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization; make the channel’s original creative or entertainment contribution clear rather than relying on repetition alone.

YouTube also distinguishes reused-content review from copyright enforcement. Permission to use material—or a conclusion that a use is fair—does not by itself establish that a channel meets monetization requirements. YouTube Help: YouTube channel monetization policies.

Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a livestream: confirm the channel is verified, meets YouTube’s age requirement, and has no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days.
- The live broadcast is interrupted or terminated: check YouTube’s copyright notifications and the rights status of every video and audio element. For licensed third-party material, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
- The stream is live but there is no replay: check the archive settings and current YouTube Studio guidance. Do not assume a very long stream will be archived in a particular way.
- Watch hours are not accruing as expected: verify whether the stream is archived; YouTube says unarchived live streams do not count toward qualified watch hours.
- You are counting on monetization from a loop: review the channel’s overall originality and value. A livestream being technically valid or properly licensed does not guarantee monetization approval.
