To create a 24/7 YouTube piano study music radio channel, first enable livestreaming on a verified channel, clear the rights to every track and visual, then send a continuous audio-and-video feed to YouTube with an encoder or cloud service. The main risks are not the playlist setup: YouTube can interrupt streams that contain unapproved third-party material, streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived, and monetization is not guaranteed for repetitive or mass-produced programming.
1. Make sure the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. For a designed radio-style presentation with continuous audio and visuals, use encoder streaming rather than a webcam-oriented workflow. YouTube lists encoders as an option for broadcasts that use overlays and production equipment. See YouTube’s live-streaming options and eligibility requirements.
Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio and allow time for activation if this is the channel’s first broadcast. Before planning a launch, check the channel’s current eligibility and restrictions in Studio; eligibility can change, and a past restriction may prevent a scheduled start.
2. Clear the piano music and visuals
Use music and visual assets you created or have licensed for the specific uses you intend: live transmission, looping, an archived replay, and monetization if applicable. Read each license for territory, duration, attribution, looping, and commercial-use restrictions. A “royalty-free” label by itself does not establish that a track is cleared for every YouTube livestream and archive use.

YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions put responsibility on the content provider to have all necessary rights worldwide, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. This can matter even when a track is licensed directly from a creator: the rights involved may extend beyond the person who uploaded it.
Expect Content ID checks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. If you have permission to use music that is registered with Content ID, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its allowlist before going live; YouTube notes that a license alone may not prevent interruption. Its guidance is at YouTube’s live-streaming and Content ID help page.

Build an intentional radio program
Prepare a playlist that is long enough to avoid an obviously short loop, and make the channel’s contribution clear through original compositions, meaningful curation, varied programming, or original visual design. Keep a record of licenses, permissions, and relevant correspondence. If the channel uses commissioned or licensed material, retain the agreements and confirm who can resolve a Content ID claim or allowlist the channel.
3. Choose how to keep the broadcast running
A 24/7 feed needs a source that continues sending both audio and video. The practical choice is a computer running an encoder or a hosted cloud service; either way, plan for failures in the media source, encoder, power, internet connection, and YouTube connection.

| Local computer and encoder | Direct access to source files and production scenes | The computer, power, network, encoder, and media playback must keep working; you are responsible for monitoring and recovery. |
| Hosted cloud streaming | Upload media and configure the hosted broadcast | Check that the service supports YouTube and that its recovery, storage, and pricing fit your needs; these vary by provider. |
Run it yourself with OBS
OBS Studio is a computer-based option for sending a produced feed to YouTube. OBS’s guide describes connecting an account and starting a broadcast through its YouTube integration: OBS’s YouTube streaming guide. The guide is dated 2015, so check current OBS instructions and YouTube Studio labels before following a particular menu sequence.
- Prepare the media. Create a playlist of cleared piano recordings and assemble a visual scene, such as original artwork or an authorized animation. Check that the audio source plays continuously and that the scene does not expose private information.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, use its current YouTube account integration where available, or obtain the stream key from YouTube Studio’s live control room and enter it in OBS’s streaming settings. A stream key grants access to broadcast on the channel: do not publish it, send it to viewers, or include it in screenshots.
- Set output for your actual setup. Choose a resolution, frame rate, and encoder configuration that your computer and connection can sustain with the media and scene you use. There is no universal 24/7 computer specification or settings preset established here; test the exact setup rather than assuming a setting will be reliable.
- Start privately or unlisted first. Confirm that YouTube receives both audio and video, inspect playback on another device, and check for audio gaps, clipping, black frames, or unexpected scene changes before making the broadcast public.
- Keep the system attended and recoverable. Prevent unintended sleep or shutdown, monitor the outgoing broadcast, and test what happens after an encoder restart, network outage, or playlist end. Secure the source files and credentials and avoid promising uninterrupted operation unless your actual setup supports that claim.
For a more precise computer recommendation, first settle the stream resolution, scene complexity, media playback method, and encoder settings; the appropriate machine depends on those choices.

4. Decide whether to broadcast one long session or scheduled sessions
A single continuous stream best fits a channel promising uninterrupted radio, but it creates an archive trade-off. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. The source is YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance. Do not promise viewers that a complete replay of a 24-hour broadcast will appear.
If complete recordings matter, keep a local recording backup and consider planned sessions shorter than 12 hours. Scheduled resets make the archive more practical but interrupt continuity, so explain the schedule to viewers and decide how the stream will restart. YouTube recommends a local backup; the exact recording workflow depends on the encoder and available storage.
5. Set monetization expectations
Livestreams are subject to YouTube’s channel monetization policies. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that its repetitious-content policy is called “inauthentic content”; highly repetitive, mass-produced, or interchangeable material may not be eligible for monetization. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
A static image with a long loop is not, by itself, established as an automatic rejection. However, a channel should offer discernible creative value—such as original music, substantial curation, varied programming, or distinctive original visuals—and meeting that standard does not guarantee approval. Treat monetization as a possible later outcome, not a prerequisite or promise.

6. Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start a live stream: verify the channel, check that livestreaming is enabled, and confirm there is no live-stream restriction from the past 90 days.
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the broadcast: check for a Content ID notice, confirm the exact music and visual rights, and ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel if you are licensed to use registered material.
- The stream stops when you leave: a local encoder depends on its computer, power, network, and playback process. Check for sleep settings, outages, application errors, and playlist completion; test recovery before relying on the setup.
- Audio or video is missing: inspect the encoder’s selected sources and YouTube’s incoming preview, then test the scene and audio playback before relaunching publicly.
- A long replay is missing: a broadcast exceeding 12 hours may not be archived automatically. Use a local recording backup or schedule shorter sessions if complete replays are important.
- Monetization is denied or uncertain: review the channel’s originality and value to viewers, and compare its programming against YouTube’s current monetization policies; no particular format guarantees acceptance.
