You can create a 24/7 YouTube stream of Christian meditation and prayer recordings by running a prepared playlist through a live-streaming encoder connected to YouTube Studio. Your channel must be verified and free of live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Before going live, clear the rights to every recording and visual, test the full stream, and arrange monitoring and recovery: YouTube can interrupt a live stream after identifying third-party content, and the available documentation does not promise uninterrupted operation or establish a maximum event duration.
What you need for a continuous prerecorded stream
YouTube supports encoder-based live streaming, which is suitable for sending a prepared program of recordings with a static or slowly changing visual. The encoder runs on a computer and sends the stream to YouTube; YouTube’s documentation does not describe this as a native playlist-looping feature. You will need:
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. YouTube lists both as requirements for going live. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Audio recordings and images or video that you have the rights to use in a live broadcast.
- An encoder configured to play the recordings in sequence or loop them, with a visual scene.
- A computer and internet connection capable of maintaining the encoder and chosen stream settings.
- A plan for checking the stream and responding if the encoder, connection, or YouTube ingest stops.
The reviewed YouTube guidance does not specify a minimum computer configuration or guarantee that a particular computer or internet connection can remain online continuously. Network stability and a recovery plan matter as much as the encoder machine.
Clear music, spoken recordings, and visual rights first
Before assembling a playlist, confirm that the channel has permission to broadcast every prayer, meditation, hymn, music track, spoken recording, and visual. Keep records of licenses and permissions, including any limits on live streaming, looping, territory, or duration.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If its systems identify a match, the stream may be replaced with a placeholder, interrupted, or terminated. A license alone may not prevent that interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder whether allowlisting is required and have it completed before launch. YouTube also says that if you choose to archive a live stream, Content ID claims on that archive are made after the live stream ends. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Build the program and visual scene
- Organize the recordings. Make a sequence that suits the intended prayer or meditation experience. Check transitions and levels so that playback does not produce abrupt silence, clipping, or unexpected gaps.
- Choose a visual. Use a still image or a slowly changing scene that you have permission to broadcast. Add a clear title so viewers can identify the stream. A prerecorded audio-and-visual loop does not require a camera.
- Configure the encoder playback. Set the encoder or playback workflow to send the prepared recordings and scene continuously. Confirm that it reaches the end of the program and continues as intended; do not assume YouTube itself will loop the recordings.
- Check the complete signal path. Listen to the encoder’s output and verify that the audio and visual remain present across transitions. If the program has a long loop, test enough of it to catch file, playlist, or transition problems before launch.
Create the YouTube live stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow. The exact interface may change; follow the current live control room’s prompts.
- Copy the RTMPS server address and stream key shown for that stream into the encoder’s streaming settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS for ordinary live streams. RTMPS is RTMP over SSL; Google’s technical documentation specifies port 443. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion details.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a broadcast to your live stream. Do not show it in a recording, screenshot, or public chat.
- Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives the signal. Check the live control room for stream-health messages before making the stream public.
Choose stable encoder settings
Use YouTube’s recommendations as starting points, not guarantees: the upload connection must sustain the total bitrate reliably. For a simple prayer or meditation scene, stable audio and a dependable connection are usually more important than choosing the highest possible video resolution.

| Setting | YouTube recommendation in the reviewed guidance | How to apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Video codec and bitrate | H.264 at 1080p/30fps: 10 Mbps | Choose a bitrate your upload connection can sustain. Lower resolution or frame rate if the stream is unstable. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; no more than 4 seconds | Set the encoder’s keyframe interval to 2 seconds where available. |
| Rate control | CBR recommended | Use constant bitrate if the encoder exposes this option. |
| Stereo audio bitrate | 128 Kbps recommended | Check that the encoder is sending the intended audio format and bitrate. |
These are YouTube platform recommendations; they do not establish that your particular connection can support 10 Mbps continuously. Run a rehearsal at the settings you plan to use and watch both the encoder and YouTube’s stream-health status. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance covers its current recommendations and testing advice: YouTube encoder settings and troubleshooting.
Rehearse, launch, and monitor the stream
- Rehearse privately or unlisted where possible. Test comparable audio and video before launch, including playback transitions and the full audio path.
- Review stream health. Check YouTube’s live control room and the encoder for warnings, dropped frames, or a loss of incoming signal.
- Assign monitoring responsibility. Decide who will notice an outage, how they will be alerted, and who can restart the encoder or repair the connection. A 24/7 program needs an operational response, not only a playlist.
- Decide whether to archive separately. YouTube’s cited copyright guidance describes when Content ID claims are made on an archived stream, but the reviewed documentation does not establish how long a very long event can be archived or whether a particular 24/7 broadcast will be preserved in full.
The reviewed official materials do not establish a maximum duration for one live event, guarantee a continuous 24/7 broadcast, or specify reconnect behavior after an outage. Verify the current YouTube Studio workflow for your planned event and test recovery rather than promising viewers that the stream cannot stop.

Troubleshooting common interruptions
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the encoder signal | Wrong server address or stream key, encoder not started, or connection problem | Use the RTMPS details displayed for the correct stream in YouTube Studio; confirm the encoder is running and check its connection status. |
| Repeated dropped frames or unstable stream health | The network cannot sustain the selected bitrate, or the connection is unstable | Check the upload connection and encoder status. Reduce resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a sustainable setting, then rehearse again. OBS’s guidance explains that increasing dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot maintain: OBS streaming connection troubleshooting. |
| Live stream is interrupted after a content match | YouTube has identified third-party content; a license may not have been accompanied by Content ID allowlisting | Review the claim or interruption notice, confirm the relevant rights, and ask the rights holder to allowlist the channel if required before restarting. |
| Audio disappears or changes unexpectedly | Playback sequence, file, transition, or encoder audio routing issue | Inspect the playlist and encoder audio source, then listen through transitions during a rehearsal before returning to public streaming. |
| Stream stops after the computer or internet fails | The local encoder or its network connection is no longer sending data | Restore the computer or connection, check YouTube’s current live control room state, and follow the restart procedure you established. Do not assume YouTube will resume the event automatically. |
Run it yourself or use a cloud service
Local encoder: control and responsibility
A local encoder gives you direct control over the playback and settings, but the computer, encoder, and internet connection must keep working for the broadcast to continue. A dedicated streaming computer may be useful if you choose this route, but the reviewed guidance does not establish a required specification or preferred model. Build monitoring and recovery into the setup, and consider whether a backup computer or internet connection is warranted for your needs.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud continues looping the uploaded program without a computer or home connection staying on; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream.
