You must schedule each YouTube live event separately in YouTube Studio; YouTube’s documented workflow does not turn an always-on playlist into a series of event pages automatically. Open Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule Stream, create a new event or reuse settings, then send the intended video feed to that event when it is due.
What scheduling an event does—and does not do
A scheduled stream is an individual live event in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Scheduling lets you share that event’s URL and gives viewers the option to set reminders. For a playlist-based broadcast, treat event creation and video playback as separate jobs: create every event in Studio, then use your chosen streaming setup to send the intended feed to the event.
YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow does not describe automatic creation of separate event pages, URLs, or notifications for each item in an always-on playlist. Reusing settings creates another event configuration; it is not documented as playlist-to-events automation. Do not assume that one continuous playlist feed will generate a new watch page for every video.
Check channel eligibility and choose a streaming method
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as live-streaming methods. For scheduled events, you can choose a suitable method based on the production; scheduling itself does not require buying a camera or encoder.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Eligibility: The channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- Encoder: Use streaming software or standalone hardware when you need external audio/video equipment or more advanced production control.
- Webcam or other methods: YouTube documents webcam streaming as a simpler camera-based option; mobile and console are also listed methods. Pick one that suits the content and production rather than treating any particular device as mandatory.
Schedule each YouTube event in Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live.
- Open the event manager. Select Manage > Schedule Stream.
- Create or reuse an event. Choose Create new for a fresh event, or Reuse settings to carry forward an earlier stream’s configuration.
- Review the event details. Check the title, description, visibility, scheduled time, and other settings. Reused settings may not be right for this event; confirm them instead of assuming they have been updated.
- Share the event page. Use the scheduled event’s URL if you want viewers to find it in advance and set a reminder.
Repeat these steps for every distinct event you want viewers to see as a separate scheduled stream. The playlist or video source belongs to your streaming setup; it does not replace the Studio event-creation steps.
Send the playlist feed to a scheduled event
If you use an encoder, open the scheduled event in Live Control Room and copy its stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s server and key fields. YouTube describes the stream key as the credential that lets the encoder send its feed to YouTube, so keep it private and do not share it as though it were the public event link.

- Set the encoder to send the intended video feed for the event, using the stream URL and key associated with that scheduled stream.
- Start the encoder at the planned time and wait for the incoming video preview in Live Control Room.
- Check the preview, then select Go live for that scheduled event.
- When the event is over, end the event in Studio and stop the encoder as appropriate.
With a continuous playlist, decide in advance how the feed will be handled between scheduled sessions. The documented YouTube workflow supports starting an encoder and launching a scheduled event, but it does not establish that playlist transitions will create or switch between separate event pages automatically.
Plan timing, checks, and archives
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder event at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use that lead time to verify that the right event and feed are connected, rather than discovering a key or preview problem at the start.

- Check the preview in Live Control Room before selecting Go live.
- Verify that the event can be reached from the channel and watch pages, including on mobile.
- Monitor audio and video quality during the event.
- If your production depends on failover, test backup-encoder behavior beforehand.
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For long-running programming, plan distinct sessions and confirm current YouTube behavior for your intended duration; do not assume a single event can run indefinitely and still receive the standard automatic archive.
Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- You cannot start live streaming: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The scheduled event has no incoming preview: Confirm the encoder is running and that its server URL and stream key match the scheduled event. Keep the key private while checking it.
- The wrong details appear on the event: Reopen the event and review the title, description, visibility, and time. Reused settings can carry forward details that need changing.
- The playlist keeps playing, but viewers do not see a new event: A playlist feed does not itself create separate scheduled event pages in the documented workflow. Schedule the next event in Studio and connect the feed to that event.
- The event is late or the preview is not ready: Follow YouTube’s recommended setup window—begin preparation at least two hours ahead and start the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time—then verify the preview before going live.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube stream rather than to create a new scheduled event for every session, StreamNeo runs that feed from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams from uploaded videos, not camera-based live broadcasts. Start the free day.
