Yes—you can normally edit or delete your own Steam review. The controls are hidden on the individual review page: open your Steam profile’s reviews, click the review’s Recommended or Not Recommended indicator, then use the Owner Controls panel.
The quickest way to edit or delete a Steam review
- Sign in to Steam and open your profile.
- Select Reviews or My Reviews.
- Find the game or software title.
- Click the review’s Recommended or Not Recommended label, usually shown beside a thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon.
- On the individual review page, find Owner Controls.
- Choose Edit Review or Delete Review.

How to edit a Steam review
From the review’s Owner Controls panel, select Edit Review. Depending on the interface and available fields, you can:

- Rewrite, correct, or expand the review text.
- Change the recommendation from positive to negative, or from negative to positive.
- Change the review’s visibility, such as public or friends-only.
- Change the language when Steam provides that option.
Save or post the revised review when finished. The playtime displayed beside a review is associated with your Steam activity for that product; it is not a manually editable review field.

How to delete a Steam review
- Open your profile’s Reviews page, or visit the direct review-management page.
- Locate the review.
- Click its Recommended or Not Recommended indicator.
- Open Owner Controls on the individual review page.
- Select Delete Review or Delete.
- Confirm the deletion if Steam asks you to do so.
Deletion is different from changing a review to friends-only or another limited visibility setting. A visibility change keeps the review attached to your account; deletion removes it from your normal review listing. Steam does not provide a guaranteed public timetable for how any resulting Store-page score or display changes are processed, so do not assume an immediate visible change.

Why you cannot see the edit or delete controls
The review list is not necessarily the editing screen. If selecting a review sends you to the Community Hub, return to your review list and click the large thumbs-up/thumbs-down icon or the Recommended/Not Recommended text instead of the game title or review card.
If the controls still do not appear, try these steps:
- Use the desktop Steam client or a desktop browser.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the account that posted the review.
- Open the game’s Store page and look for View your review or a notice indicating that your review is publicly visible.
- Refresh the page, or sign out and back in.
- Try another browser and temporarily disable extensions that interfere with Steam Community pages.
- Reopen the review from your review-management page.
Button names and placement can vary between Steam’s website, client, language settings, and future interface updates. Community discussions commonly identify the recommendation icon as the route to the owner controls, but the exact wording is not guaranteed.

What if the game was delisted?
A delisted or discontinued game does not necessarily make its review impossible to manage. Start from your profile’s review list rather than the game’s Store page, because the Store page may no longer be available. The same recommendation-icon route may still work, although access is not guaranteed for every old or unavailable title.
What to do about “Error trying to process your request: 15”
A February 2026 Steam Community report described Error trying to process your request: 15 when attempting to modify one particular review, while other reviews remained usable. That report did not establish a verified Valve fix, so there is no reliable workaround to promise.

- Open the review from your profile and from the game’s Store page, if available.
- Try both the desktop client and a browser.
- Check whether the game is still listed on Steam.
- Wait and try again if Steam Community pages appear to be malfunctioning.
- If only one review fails, contact Steam Support with the exact error, game title, review URL, and relevant account context.
Do not assume that reinstalling Steam will fix this type of failure. A review-specific error may involve the Community page, account state, review record, or server-side processing.

Editing or deleting a review on mobile
The desktop website or Steam client is the most dependable method. On mobile, open the individual review first, then look for Owner Controls or an overflow menu such as three dots. Mobile placement and gestures have varied in user reports, so do not treat one particular swipe or button location as universal.

A review missing from a Store page is not necessarily deleted. It may be friends-only, ranked lower, collapsed by Steam’s display systems, or affected by moderation. Valve has stated that its helpfulness system changes review ordering and display rather than the underlying review score calculation; see the Steam review helpfulness update.
Can a developer delete your Steam review?
No. A developer cannot directly delete a customer’s review. Developers can respond publicly or flag a review for moderator review. Steam may remove reviews that violate its rules, while an “Off-Topic” finding can reduce a review’s visibility without necessarily deleting it. Valve documents these processes in its Steamworks user-review documentation.

You also do not have to delete a negative review because a developer contacted you, provided support, supplied a free copy, or issued a refund. Edit or remove a review only when it reflects your current honest opinion. Steam’s developer guidance prohibits using reviews for commercial purposes or artificially influencing review scores through coercion or compensation; see Community Moderation.
Bottom line
To manage your Steam review, open your profile’s review list, click the review’s thumbs-up or thumbs-down recommendation indicator, and use Owner Controls. That is the key step most missing instructions omit. If the review is inaccessible, the game is delisted, or Steam returns a review-specific error, try the alternate entry points and desktop access before contacting Steam Support.
