Samsung says Game Booster cannot be turned off or disabled through its normal supported settings. However, you can lower its performance intervention, stop it from blocking notifications, change Gaming Hub’s behavior, or reset the app when its settings are broken.
The exact menus vary by Galaxy model, carrier, country, Android version, and One UI version. The paths below reflect Samsung’s current guidance for supported devices.
Game Booster and Gaming Hub are different
Gaming Hub organizes your installed games and provides access to gaming features. Game Booster is the separate component that appears while you play and manages options such as performance optimization, temperature and battery behavior, notification blocking, shortcuts, and related controls.
Hiding Gaming Hub or removing a game from it does not necessarily disable Game Booster. Samsung describes the two as separate components that work together.

Can you completely disable Samsung Game Booster?
Not through Samsung’s standard user-facing controls. Samsung’s official support guidance says that Game Booster cannot be turned off or disabled. That means instructions promising a universal Settings → Apps → Game Booster → Disable button are unreliable: the option may not exist on your device.
If your phone does show a Disable option, its presence is firmware-dependent. Samsung does not document this as the normal solution, and removing system gaming components with generic ADB commands is not recommended without device-specific verification.
Choose the workaround for the problem you actually have
| Problem | Best workaround |
|---|---|
| Game Booster changes performance or uses more battery | Choose Standard or Battery saver under Game optimization. |
| Notifications disappear while playing | Turn off notification blocking under Block during game. |
| The gaming launcher is unwanted | Change Gaming Hub’s Show game apps setting or remove individual games. |
| Game Booster settings are missing or broken | Clear Game Booster’s data, update it through Galaxy Store, and reopen its settings. |
Reduce Game Booster’s performance changes
On supported devices using newer One UI software, Samsung’s current path is:
- Open Gaming Hub.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots).
- Tap Game Booster.
- Tap Game optimization. Some regions may use the spelling Game optimisation.
- Select Standard or Battery saver instead of Performance.
Performance prioritizes high gaming performance. Standard balances performance and battery use, while Battery saver prioritizes efficiency. These choices change the optimization profile; they do not turn Game Booster off, and Samsung does not promise a universal battery-life improvement for either option.

For a particular game, look for Game Booster → Customizations for individual games. Depending on the device, you may be able to set that game’s optimization level, FPS, screen resolution, or frame booster behavior separately. A per-game setting can override the general profile.
Stop Game Booster from blocking notifications
If the main issue is missed alerts, leave Game Booster installed and change its blocking controls:
- Launch a supported game.
- Open the Game Booster panel during gameplay.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Block during game.
- Turn off Notifications, along with any other blocking option you do not want.
Available controls can include options related to navigation gestures, auto brightness, Bixby, or the Edge panel, depending on the model and software. Samsung notes that some alerts may still appear or may not be blockable, including alarms and certain app notifications.
On newer One UI versions, notification-silencing behavior previously associated with Priority mode may instead be configured through Modes and Routines → Game. Older guides that tell you to disable Priority mode may therefore not match your phone.

- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
Hide games from Gaming Hub
If you want to remove the launcher experience rather than disable Game Booster, open Gaming Hub and find its game-display setting, usually called Show game apps. Depending on the device, you can show games only in Gaming Hub or in both Gaming Hub and the Home/Apps screens.
To remove one game from Gaming Hub, touch and hold the game and choose Remove from Gaming Hub where that option is available. This changes organization and visibility; it is not a guaranteed way to stop Game Booster from appearing during gameplay.
Fix missing or inaccessible Game Booster settings
Clearing data is a troubleshooting reset, not a disable method. Use it when Game Booster’s settings are unavailable, corrupted, or inaccessible:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap the Filter and sort icon.
- Enable Show system apps.
- Select Game Booster.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap Clear data and confirm.
- Open Galaxy Store → Menu → Updates and install any Game Booster update.
Clearing data returns Game Booster to factory defaults and removes your personal Game Booster settings. It does not remove or disable the component.

Why older Game Booster instructions may fail
Samsung has reorganized gaming controls across One UI releases. Depending on your phone, older names may differ from current ones:
- Game Launcher may now be called Gaming Hub.
- Game performance may now appear as Game optimization.
- Priority mode may have been replaced or supplemented by Modes and Routines → Game.
- Controls once found in Game Booster Labs may have moved into the main Game Booster settings.
One UI 7 reorganized performance and notification-related controls, but the exact layout still depends on model, region, carrier software, and device form factor. Samsung has also documented a model- and update-specific Game Booster settings-access issue after a One UI 8.5 update; that should not be interpreted as a universal way to disable the feature.

Game Booster may not appear because the game or device does not support it, because the feature is only exposed after launching a game, or because a software update moved the menu. Samsung also lists some Galaxy models without Game Booster support, including the Galaxy A02s, A03S, and A14 5G on one US support page.

Try these checks:
- Launch the game first and look for the Game Booster panel.
- Check Settings → Advanced features → Game Booster settings.
- Open Gaming Hub and check its three-dot menu.
- Install pending Galaxy Store updates.
- Confirm that both your Galaxy model and the game support Game Booster.
On gesture-navigation devices, you may need to swipe up or expose the navigation area before the Game Booster panel becomes accessible.
What not to assume
- Changing Gaming Hub visibility does not prove that Game Booster is disabled.
- Standard or Battery saver does not remove Game Booster; they change its optimization profile.
- Clearing Game Booster data does not uninstall it.
- Game Booster Plus is a related customization or statistics feature, not evidence that the base component has a disable switch.
- Generic ADB package-removal commands are not a safe universal fix because package names and dependencies can vary.

Can I uninstall Game Booster?
Samsung does not provide a universal supported uninstall or disable method. If your particular firmware exposes a Disable option, it is device-dependent rather than a standard Samsung procedure.
