You can’t download Nintendo games for Yuzu from an authorized Yuzu game library. Nintendo directs players to buy or download authentic games through Nintendo eShop or Nintendo’s website. Its U.S. support page describes Nintendo game files shared through third-party links or peer-to-peer networks as unauthorized copies. The archived Yuzu guide describes a different process: transferring game and system files dumped from a Nintendo Switch.
Where to get games for Yuzu
Nintendo’s guidance is to acquire authentic games through Nintendo eShop or Nintendo’s website. That does not provide game files for Yuzu: Nintendo’s U.S. support FAQ states, “Nintendo does not currently offer or authorise for sale any product that allows the play or download of its video game files on personal computing devices.”
Nintendo also says that downloading or uploading pirated copies is illegal and calls third-party links and peer-to-peer downloads of its game files unauthorized copies. That is Nintendo’s guidance for the U.S.; this information does not establish the law in every country.
What the archived Yuzu guide describes
The archived Yuzu Quickstart Guide describes transferring files from a Nintendo Switch to a computer. It says commercial games require system files from a Switch and covers game dumps, system firmware, decryption keys, updates, and downloadable content. It discusses game dumps in XCI and NSP formats.

This is a description of the guide’s workflow, not an authorized download service or a recommendation to get game files, firmware, or keys from third-party sites. The guide is hosted on an archived third-party mirror; it does not establish that Yuzu is currently distributed or supported. Whether making or using a particular dump is lawful depends on the applicable law and circumstances.
What to know about Yuzu’s legal history
Nintendo filed a complaint against Yuzu in February 2024. The complaint contains Nintendo’s allegations, not findings by a court; see the February 2024 complaint materials for what Nintendo claimed.

The archived guide describes using files dumped from a Switch, including game files and required system files. It does not say that owning a Switch game automatically gives you an authorized Yuzu download, nor does it provide a way to download Nintendo’s files from Nintendo.
