As of October 3, 2026, the official Epic material reviewed does not confirm an active free Fortnite Sidekick offer. The two free routes Epic announced—Peels through a 2025 Battle Pass and Bonesy for eligible Bonesy Back Bling owners—were historical offers, not proof that either can be claimed now. Check Fortnite and Epic’s official channels for current rewards; use the steps below to find Sidekick quests and manage a Sidekick you already have.

For a free Sidekick, distinguish a genuinely free in-game reward from a paid shop item or a gift tied to another purchase. A Sidekick shown in a shop, or a third-party claim that one is free, does not by itself prove there is a free offer.

How to find Sidekick quests
If a Sidekick quest is available, you can reach it through the Quests tab or from the selected Sidekick in your Locker. Epic’s Sidekick quest instructions describe both routes.
From the Quests tab
- Open Quests in Fortnite.
- Select the Sidekicks entry with the paw icon on the left.
- Select a Sidekick to view its available quests.
From the Locker
- Open Locker > Sidekicks.
- Select the Sidekick.
- Open its three-dot or edit menu, then choose Go to Quest.
Epic notes that a Sidekick can disappear from the quest page after all of its quests are complete. If it is absent, there may be no remaining quests for that Sidekick to display.

How to customize a Sidekick you own
Customization happens in the Locker. Review the appearance carefully before confirming: Epic says the appearance is permanently locked after confirmation, and some Sidekicks do not have customization options. Follow Epic Support’s customization steps:
- Open Locker > Sidekicks and select your Sidekick.
- Choose from the available appearance options, then select NEXT STEP.
- Review the appearance. If it is right, hold LOCK-IN to confirm.
- Set the Sidekick’s name and finish customization.
How to check an offer and avoid fake free-item claims
Epic says legitimate free-item offers are announced through the Epic Games Store, official Epic websites, and official social channels. Its free-items guidance also warns against suspicious outside offers. Confirm an offer through Epic before acting, and never give your Epic account credentials to a third-party “free Sidekick” or “free V-Bucks” site. Epic Support also says it will not grant missed seasonal items on request.
