Before you download: check subscription and availability
You need an Apple Arcade subscription to download its games. Apple says Arcade games have no ads or in-app purchases, and subscribers can download available games without an extra charge. Apple One is another subscription option that includes Apple Arcade. Availability and features vary by country or region. Apple’s subscription and availability details explain the terms.
Not every game works on every Apple device. Availability depends on hardware and software compatibility; Apple specifically notes that not all titles are available on Mac or Apple TV 4K. Check the game listing on the device where you plan to play before downloading. Apple’s App Store guide provides device-specific browsing instructions.
Find and download games on iPhone or iPad

Open the Games app and tap Arcade to browse Apple Arcade’s collection. You can also search for a particular game.

Choose a game to open its listing and check that it is available for your device.

Tap the download control on the listing. If prompted, subscribe to Apple Arcade first.

To play a downloaded game later, open your Library. The Continue Playing section can also help you resume games.

Find and download games on Mac

Open Games or the App Store, then choose Arcade. You can browse the collection or search for a title.

Open a game’s listing to review details such as its rating and controller support, and confirm that it is offered for Mac.

Choose the download control on the listing. Subscribe if prompted.

Find and download games on Apple TV
On Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, open the Arcade app or the App Store and select Arcade. In the Arcade app, browse featured games or category rows, choose See All Games to sort or filter, or use Search.

Select a game to view its listing and check compatibility and controller requirements.

Choose Get to start downloading. Subscribe if prompted.

Playing across devices and sharing access
Apple says game progress can be accessed on compatible devices signed in to the same Apple Account. On Apple TV, a Continue Playing row can show games played on another device when you are signed in to Game Center. A game still needs to be available and compatible on each device.
Apple Arcade or Apple One can be shared through Family Sharing with up to five other family members, according to Apple’s subscription information.
Apple TV controller requirements
Controller needs depend on the game. Apple says, “Most games in Apple Arcade require a third-party Bluetooth® game controller or other accessory (sold separately).” The game listing indicates whether a controller is optional or required. Check that listing and controller compatibility before choosing a game or accessory. See the Apple TV Arcade guide.
What happens if you cancel?
After cancelling Apple Arcade, you can no longer play its games, even if they remain downloaded. Apple says resubscribing can restore access to gameplay data, although some data may not be supported after a long delay. Apple’s subscription terms describe cancellation and access.
